Honestly, Sterling had overlooked one crucial detail. As annoying as Sasha was, she was still Lydia's best friend.
In the real world, guys trying to woo their crushes often started by buttering up their best friends.
Sometimes, having the best friend sing your praises was the key to actually winning the girl!
Just as she was pondering this, Lorelei chimed in enthusiastically. "Elena, you're way too nice! You get bullied and you don't even want revenge, you just let it go. No wonder Sterling is so crazy about you!"
She then sneakily redirected her attack toward Lydia. "Unlike some people, who let their friends bully others and then have the audacity to demand an apology! I don't know how they sleep at night!"
Sasha was livid. Fists tightly clenched, she spun around and roared at her. "Lorelei, if you spew one more word of bullshit, I'll rip your mouth right off your face!"
Lorelei didn't flinch. "Oh wow, struck a nerve, did I? If you're so terrified of being called out, maybe you shouldn't act like such a bitch! Playing the victim while acting so high and mighty is just pathetic!"
"Elena is taking the high road here, you should be on your knees thanking her. You've got some nerve acting this arrogant. If I were Elena, I'd slap you until you cried!"
Elena was utterly speechless.
Could this circus just end already? If they kept this up, it was going to spiral entirely out of control!
"Since Lydia doesn't have any objections, then let's just—"
"Elena, are you relying on his bias to assume I'll just agree?"
Before she could finish, Lydia locked eyes with her, her gaze piercing and cold.
Elena blinked, momentarily at a loss for words.
"Since Sterling is so determined to vent your anger and force you to slap Sasha, fine... I'll take it for her."
Without warning, Lydia straightened her spine and took a bold step forward.
"Sterling, I am willing to take your girlfriend's slap on Sasha's behalf."
