Jade was exceptionally sharp. She knew Elena wouldn't bring up Xavier out of nowhere.
As they texted, she pieced the truth together.
[Jade_Get_Paid]: Babe, don't tell me your ex is Xavier Hawthorne? That makes no sense. Mr. Hawthorne is based in the capital, wasn't your ex from Oceanside?
[HeartbeatElena]: I just found out myself. His real identity is Xavier Hawthorne.
[Jade_Get_Paid]: For the past six months, I've gone out of my way to hide your tracks, but Mr. Hawthorne never stopped looking for you. Did he catch you now? Did he do anything to you?
[Jade_Get_Paid]: That scumbag! With his status, he could have any woman he wants, yet he went all the way to Oceanside to play poor. He's totally psycho! Back then, you shouldn't have just stripped him naked and tossed him on the street. You should have taken nude photos to use as blackmail!
[HeartbeatElena]: Don't worry, I'm safe for now.
Elena was used to sending voice notes, so her typing speed wasn't exactly fast.
After sending that message, she needed to type more.
Suddenly, a shadow fell over her, and she hurriedly hid her phone.
"Who are you texting?"
Sterling asked casually, glancing at her phone screen.
Elena held her breath, realizing she had only backed out of the group chat and was still on the direct message screen.
She quickly locked her phone, blinked her eyes, and met the young man's gaze with pure innocence.
"Answer me."
The young man pressed. Seeing the girl stubbornly keeping her mouth shut, a flicker of impatience crossed his features. "Are you mute, Elena?"
Hearing this, Elena pointed a finger at him, then at her own mouth, reminding him of his previous threat.
For every word she spoke, he would deduct ten thousand dollars, until there was nothing left.
