“I have to go home,” I whispered, trying to sound firm even as my voice wavered. “I have a job, Zane. You do remember I’m your brothers’ babysitter, right?”
Zane’s hand slid up from my waist, his rough palm stroking my cheek almost tenderly. His thumb brushed over my bottom lip, eyes darkening.
Then his fingers pushed into my hair, gripping my ponytail and tugging sharply. The band loosened, and my hair cascaded down to the small of my back.
“What the hell is your problem?” I hissed, pushing the strands out of my face and glaring up at him.
Zane didn’t answer. He simply looked at me, green eyes intense and unblinking, like he was memorizing every detail, the flush on my cheeks, the way my chest rose and fell with each shaky breath.
My heart slammed against my ribs. “W-why are you staring…”
He didn’t let me finish.
Suddenly, his mouth slammed down on mine in a bruising kiss.
I gasped against his lips, hands flying up to his chest. The kiss was rough, hungry, and demanding. His tongue swept past my lips, stroking against mine in a way that made my head spin. A low groan rumbled in his chest as he kissed me harder, fingers tightening in my hair while his other hand gripped my waist.
I whimpered, knees weak, my body betraying me as heat flooded through me. For one dizzying moment I almost kissed him back, hands fisting in his shirt, torn between pushing him away and pulling him closer.
Zane pulled back just enough to look at me, a thin string of spit connecting our lips. His eyes were dark, pupils blown wide.
“I’m going to kiss you again,” he said, voice low and commanding. “And you’re going to open that pretty mouth for me. Stick your tongue out like a good girl.”
My eyes widened. “N-no..”
His mouth crashed back onto mine. He licked across my lips, then bit the bottom one hard enough to make me gasp. His tongue pushed inside, exploring, claiming. When I stayed frozen, his hand came down in a sharp smack on my hip.
“Tongue,” he growled against my mouth.
Shyly, my tongue met his. He sucked it into his mouth, stroking and dominating the kiss completely. I moaned softly, the sound vibrating between us.
His hand pushed under my skirt, palm rubbing over my thigh before his fingers brushed right between my legs, over my panties.
I jerked hard, a shocked whimper escaping into the kiss.
Someone coughed.
My eyes flew open. A male student stood a few feet away, books in his hands, cheeks bright red as he stared in shock.
Zane gave my bottom lip one last slow lick before finally pulling back, satisfaction clear in his gaze. The boy mumbled something and practically ran away.

Chapter 102
I stood frozen, face burning, lips swollen, skirt bunched up. I quickly tugged it down with trembling hands.
“You… you are going to get us both expelled!” I hissed.
Zane just laughed softly, the sound dripping with smug amusement, like he didn’t care at all. “Worth it.”
I glared at him, trying to steady my breathing. “I’m going,” I said firmly, turning to leave.
His hand shot out, tugging me back against his chest. “I’ll take you home, Star.”
The nickname hit like a punch. “Star.” That was what my mom called me. Hearing it from him felt too intimate, too wrong.
“Don’t call me that,” I whispered, voice shaking.
Zane tilted my head back gently with his fingers still in my hair. “Why not? It fits you. You shine even when you’re trying to hide.”
I swallowed hard. “Zane… please. Just let me go.”
Instead, he leaned down and pressed a surprisingly soft kiss to my forehead. “I’m driving you home. No arguments.”
I wanted to fight him. But I was exhausted, emotionally drained and still buzzing from his touch. The idea of walking to the bus stop alone felt overwhelming.
