Simon put everything he had into that punch.

Caught completely off guard, Rhys’s head snapped to the side, and he stumbled back two steps.

A commotion erupted in the hallway as patients and visitors scrambled out of the way.

Rhys wiped a trace of blood from the corner of his mouth, his eyes dark and menacing as he stared at Simon. "Have you lost your mind?"

"I have the right to lose my mind. Do you have the right to ask?"

Simon sneered. "Rhys, that punch was for Clara. Your wife was bleeding out downstairs, and what were you doing upstairs? Nursing that manipulative bitch or singing her a lullaby?"

"Watch your mouth," Rhys warned, suppressing his rage. "This is between Clara and me. It’s none of your business. Where is she? How is she?"

Simon’s eyes were red, and he looked ready to kick him for good measure.

Emily had been vague on the phone, only mentioning that Clara was pregnant and bleeding heavily.

He blocked the door. "You have the nerve to ask? Where the hell were you when Emily called? If I were you, I’d find a rope and hang myself in front of the hospital right now as an apology!"

"Simon!" Rhys’s patience snapped. He grabbed Simon by the collar and slammed him against the wall. "I asked you how she is! Move!"

Simon craned his neck and shouted back, "I won't! You want in? Beat me to death right here first!"

The brawl was attracting security.

Just then, the door to the observation room opened.

Noah stood in the doorway, removing his mask to reveal his cool, detached face.

He glanced at Simon, who was pinned against the wall, and then at Rhys, who was radiating aggression.

"This is a hospital. If you want to fight, go to the morgue. It’s spacious, and no one there will care what you do."

Rhys released Simon and looked at Noah, recognizing him as the doctor he had seen at the airport and in Sunbay City.

"Where is Clara?"

"Inside," Noah stepped aside to clear the path. "She just woke up."

Rhys shoved Simon aside and rushed in.

Simon moved to stop him again, but Noah raised an arm to block him.
