Everyone stood around the room looking really confused at what I just said. They couldn’t understand why I was offering myself as bait. But it was definitely better than offering a child. And I wasn’t going to let them talk me out of it. If those vampires were going to come for anyone, then it was going to be me.

“Morgan. You have two children to think about.” Ezra said.

“And you and all of the warriors will be there to capture these things before they get to me. I won’t be in any danger.” I said.

“There’s always danger in these situations.” Ezra said.

“We’ll help.” Cory said.

“Do we have to?” Bonnie asked.

“What’s wrong? Running away again?” Ezra asked, glaring at her. So she stopped talking.

“Ezra, I will be fine. I will be safe. It’s fine. I’m not scared.” I said.

“You should be.” Sergio said.

“I don’t believe that they want me dead.” I said.

“What is so special about you?” Bonnie asked.

“Oh, I can think of a few things.” I said, subtly looking at Ezra.

“Alright. It’s been a long day and a long night before that. I think we should just get some rest and talk about this again tomorrow.” Ezra said, looking at me.

“Alright. We can sleep on it. But I’m not going to change my mind.” I said.

“I don’t expect you to. But I might have a chance to get a few of my warriors here before you go off and do something stupid.” Ezra said.

“My warriors will do just fine.” Logan said.

“No offence, but after the abuse that Morgan suffered in this pack. I think I trust my warriors more than I trust you and yours.” Ezra growled at him. Which he had no answer to.

Ezra was going to make sure that I was protected at all times. Logan looked a little pissed off that Ezra didn’t trust his warriors, but to be honest, I didn’t either. I was glad that they didn’t make me go to the border and escort Cory and Sergio into the pack.

But once we had agreed to get some rest and talk about it tomorrow, Cory, Sergio and Bonnie left. And Ezra and I went upstairs.

We had a quick shower and got into bed without waking the kids and I was facing the window and Ezra rolled on his side and pulled me flush against his chest. I could feel his hot breath on my neck. Neither of us were saying anything, but we were both thinking about the same thing. That was obvious.

I had to stop though. I was exhausted and there was a lot of crap that needed to get done in the coming days and weeks. I was going to need my strength.

I tried to clear my mind and luckily it only took a few more minutes to get to sleep.

The following morning when Savannah woke up, I saw the door slightly open and Paisley came in.

“I’ll take the kids. You two look like you need some more sleep.” Paisley said.

“Are you sure?” I asked.

“Yeah. You two have to be exhausted. Go back to sleep.” She said.

So she took the two kids and headed out of the room and I laid back down. I did actually go back to sleep, but it was only for about an hour or so. It wasn’t long at all.

I got up while Ezra was still asleep and I got changed and I walked downstairs to the living room where I heard Paisley talking to someone. I recognised the voice immediately. I stopped on the stairs as I was walking down them and I started to shake a little.

I realized that I am not the same pathetic little girl that I used to be while I was in this pack. So I took a couple of deep breaths and I walked down the rest of the stairs and I stood at the doorway of the living room watching Ryan, one of the guys that used to beat me while I was at school, playing with my children.

“If you so much as touch my child, I will fucking rip your hands off.” I threatened. And he quickly stood up and turned around to look at me.

“Wow. You really are back.” Ryan said.

“Yeah. What the fuck are you doing here?” I asked.
