As soon as it was lights out that night I was laying in bed trying to figure out what I had done so wrong that would make the Captain want to bench me. I thought I had done pretty good for my first time out. And I work harder than anyone else out here.

But Trainer Hayes stopped walking as he got right in front of me and he looked me in the eyes.

“I know that, sir. But how do I get the experience if I can’t be in the field getting it?” I asked.

He quickly reached up and grabbed me around the neck and he pushed me against the wall.
