Chapter 35
I wasn’t sure when I had fallen asleep, but I wasn’t the only one.
I woke up really early the next morning and I realized that we were still in my mother’s bed.
I bet she wasn’t expecting to see this when she got home from work.
I got up and threw on some clothes that were in the cupboard and I went to the living room.
Mom was on the couch tonight, but she was just getting up as well. She needed to get to work.
“Sorry about last night.” I said.
“You have nothing to apologize for. I told you to take the bedroom when we first moved in here. You refused.” She
said.
“Well, I’m not stealing your room now either. I’ll wash the bedding today.” I said.
“Aren’t you going to work?” She asked.
“Not today. I was told not to work until my back is healed. The wounds started bleeding yesterday so the doctor told me that I had to take it easy. And I wasn’t allowed to take the stitches out too soon.” I explained.
“Alright. So, yesterday with the Alpha.” She said.
“Definitely wasn’t planned.” I said.
“It never is. Especially not with your mate.” She said.
“Are you alright with this?” I asked.
“He’s your mate. I’ll find a way to be okay with it. Don’t worry about me.” She said.
She went to the bathroom and I got the coffee started when Logan walked into the room wearing his jeans, but not his shirt.
“I thought you were in the shower.” He said.
“Not yet. I’ll have one after she goes to work.” I said.
“Alright. I have to get going. I have to get back to the packhouse.” He said.
“Alright. Will I see you later?” I asked. Barely looking at him.
I really didn’t know what this meant for us. The whole time I’ve known that we were mated, I haven’t known where I stand with him. But I guess we’re about to find out.
“Sure. I’ll talk to you later.” He said, leaning down and kissing me,
He put his shirt on before he left the trailer and I watched him walk off towards the packhouse.
After mom went to work I did as I promised. I washed all of her bedding and everything that was in her room that we may have touched and I hung it all out on the lines that I put up around the living room.
When I went outside with my coffee I lit a cigarette and I could see the wolves patrolling around this area now.
They were definitely paying a lot more attention ever since that vampire was spotted. And I’m guessing that was Cory. Unless he had one of his other family members with him.

I just wandered around outside the trailer smoking when I saw Ace’s wolf laying near a tree. He looked up at me and it really looked like he was smiling. But I couldn’t know for sure.
When I went back inside I had a shower and put on some nicer clothes and I grabbed my bag and left the trailer.
I headed straight into town and I stopped at the bank to see how much I had been paid.
I was actually surprised at how much was in there. I guess Logan was paying more an omega’s salary. Not that he had been doing that for my mother.
I had to stop at a couple of shops and pay off some bills and then there wasn’t a whole heap of money left.
Luckily, we already had a fully stacked fridge.
As I was starting to walk back towards the trailer, I heard a lot of noise coming from the packhouse.
I followed the noise and there was a large crowd gathered outside the house.
I stood right at the back and I saw Logan come out with two guards following behind him and they had Jack with them.
