The Omega and The Arrogant Alpha (by Kylie) novel Chapter 352

I wake to the echo of that thought still sitting heavy in my chest, not panic, not dread, just awareness sharpened into something almost metallic, and I lie there listening to the quiet hum of the packhouse before dawn while the bond rests steady beneath my ribs like a coiled wire that has decided not to snap.

They will not come at us the same way again.

If last night was a measurement of coordination, today will be about perception.

I slide out of bed carefully so I do not wake Landon immediately, and I pad into the bathroom, turning the shower on low and stepping beneath it while the water warms slowly against my skin. I wash methodically, scrubbing down my arms, running shampoo through my hair twice, letting the repetition calm the edges of my thoughts.

If they want to seed suspicion, they will not do it loudly.

It will be subtle.

It will be framed as concern.

By the time I step out and wrap a towel around myself, the plan is already forming.

We will not wait for whispers to grow roots.

We will address them before they take shape.

I dress in fitted training clothes again instead of formal wear, because today I need to move, not posture, and I braid my hair tight and secure it at the base of my neck. When I walk back into the bedroom, Landon is awake and watching me, his gaze steady and analytical.

“You’re already thinking ahead,” he says quietly.

“Yes.”

He sits up, resting his forearms on his knees.

“They will try to isolate,” he says.

“Yes.”

The bond hums faintly in agreement, not strained but alert.

“Then we remove isolation,” I reply.

Downstairs, the kitchen is quieter than yesterday, West Ridge warriors still sleeping off the extended drill, and I pour coffee while the morning light creeps in pale and deliberate through the windows.

“I want an open strategy forum,” I say as Landon joins me at the counter.

“For leadership,” he asks.

“For captains and senior warriors,” I correct. “From both packs.”

He studies me for a moment, then nods.

“Transparency,” he says.

“Before rumor.”

Because if someone intends to question whether West Ridge’s presence provokes escalation, we will address it openly rather than let it fester.

By midmorning, the central hall is filled with a mix of our captains and West Ridge’s command structure, not shoulder to shoulder in challenge but seated in a circular arrangement that eliminates hierarchy of placement without erasing it entirely.

I stand at the front but not behind a desk.

“We have experienced measured border probes over the last week,” I begin evenly, and there is no ripple of surprise because everyone in this room knows it already. “Last night, those probes intensified during coordinated drills.”

I let the silence stretch for a second before continuing.

“This timing is not coincidental.”

Eyes sharpen.

“They are testing response patterns, and they are adjusting based on what they observe.”
