Chapter 37
When I got to the trailer I slammed the door and I was pacing back and forth. I didn’t know what to do or what to think. I was angry, frustrated, pissed, hurt…every feeling that a person could have, I was having them all right
now.
I could barely keep one thought straight in my head, but once the music and partying started at the packhouse, I knew only one thing. I couldn’t stay here and watch this.
I went to the bedroom and grabbed a duffle bag. I started packing all of my clothes into it and then I took it into the bathroom and I packed all of my toiletries as well.
I walked out of the bathroom and Ace was standing in the trailer.
“Don’t you dare try and talk me out of this.” I said.
“I know that Alpha Logan spent the night here last night.” Ace said, looking very serious. “I’ll report it stolen to the Alpha in a couple of hours.” He said, handing me his car keys.
“You’re helping me?” I asked. 1
“Yeah.”
“What about my mother?” I asked.
“It would be best if she doesn’t know where you are. So the Alpha can’t take it out on her.”
“I want her to come with me.” I said.
“She’s never going to leave. Not while your father is buried here.” He said.
And I knew that he was right. She was never going to leave dad. She went to visit him every night before she came home from work.
She thinks I don’t know that, but whenever I go visit him, there’s always fresh flowers at the grave. And there’s only one person in this pack who would be doing that.
I grabbed the phone that Ezra gave me and I put it underneath my mom’s pillow. So no one else would find it except for mom and we could keep in touch. It was the only thing I could think of.
I wrote out a quick note and told her not to worry about me. I’m getting out of here and I am going to make something of myself.
I knew that’s exactly what she wanted to hear.
Ace had left by now and I walked outside and his car was parked right out the front.
I put my bag in the back seat and then I got in the driver’s seat and I left the trailer. 3
I had to leave through the main street which led to the highway. Usually there’s a warrior watching the street to see who is coming and going, but I didn’t see anyone there tonight. So I just drove straight off the territory.
I sped down the highway so I could get as much distance as I possibly could from the pack.
I didn’t want anyone to be able to catch up to me.
Ace was giving me a couple of hours to get a headstart, and I was going to use that to my advantage and get as far away from here as possible.

I had been driving for several hours when I knew that Ace would have reported the car stolen by now.
So I pulled it over by the side of the highway. It was a secluded highway and it was already dark out. So there wasn’t anyone else around.
I pulled over by the side of the road and I got out of the car. I walked into the woods and found a large thick stick that I could place on the gas pedal and then I put the car in gear and drove it straight off the road.
I watched it as it went down a little ditch and slam straight into a tree, ruining the whole front end of the car.
I walked over to see the damage inside the car and I grabbed a small army knife out of my bag and I cut my hand and I dropped the blood on the steering wheel, some on the seat and then smeared some on the door. Making it look like I had gotten out of the car.
