The Omega and The Arrogant Alpha (by Kylie) novel Chapter 71

Chapter 71

“You know, you really shouldn’t come into a girl’s bedroom unless you’re invited.” I said, turning around and I saw Cory standing there.

“Yeah well, you’re a hard girl to track down.” He said.

“That’s the point. How did you find me?” I asked.

“I have better contacts than Logan.” He said.

“Well, you’ve had more time to develop contacts than he has.” I said.

“That’s true. I am a little bit older than him.”

“What are you doing here Cory?” I asked.

“Logan’s getting close. He knows that you’re here.”

“No. He only suspects that I’m here. If you only here to tell me shit that I already know then you can leave.” I said.

“That book that you have from Logan’s pack. Is it safe?” He asked.

“Yeah. I haven’t had a chance to read more into it yet, though.” I said.

“You should. There’s a lot of interesting information in there that you really should know.” He said.

“Like what?” I asked.

“Family history. Not just Logan’s family. But yours too.” He said.

“Why would my family history be in that book? We’re a nobody family. My dad was the head warrior before he was killed and then we were ignored.” I said.

“And you’ll find the reason for that in that book.” Cory said.

“What?” I asked.

“You will find all of the answers that you need, in that book. Make sure you let me know when you find it.” He said.

“Are you one of the vampires that is in the treaty?” I asked.

“Just read the book. You’re an English lit major. It shouldn’t be too much of a problem for you. I’ll talk to you later.” He said, walking back over to my window and he jumped out of it.

I walked over to the wardrobe and I pulled the back wall off of it and I grabbed the book out and sat at my desk looking at it.

I went to the very last page that I had read. And it mentioned Alpha Jameson. But I assumed that it was referring to another family. Because this was hundreds of years ago.

So as soon as I finished my homework I sat next to the window with Logan’s book and I started reading it while I was having a cigarette next to the window. 2

“You shouldn’t be smoking while you’re pregnant.” Nathan yelled walking past my room. 1

“Mind your own business man-whore.” I sang out. And I heard someone start laughing, but I didn’t know who it was. It definitely wasn’t Ezra. [3

I managed to get through a few dozen pages that night before I started getting really exhausted and I put the book back before I went to bed.

I don’t know why I trusted Cory as much as I did. But for some reason, there was something in my gut telling me to trust him.

It was strange. Vampire and werewolves don’t get along. That’s a known fact among all supernatural creatures. Witches aren’t too liked with us either. But we can tolerate them. Vampires we can’t tolerate because they kill people.

The ones that kill only to survive then we consider them to have no other choice because they were made vampires against their will.

But the vampires that are out of control and kill for the fun of it, they’re the ones that werewolves are usually recruited to stop.

So I don’t know why believing Cory was so important to me. It was a gut feeling, and I knew a long time ago to never ignore my gut. It was always right.

And Bella wasn’t scared or weary of him either. So that meant something to me as well.

I just wish I knew what it was.
