Chapter 78
“I know.” I said.
“Why would they think that you’re a prophet?” He asked.
“I don’t know. I really don’t.” I said.
“Something has made them believe that.”
“That’s why I’m meeting with his whole family. So I can find that out.” I said.
“And what about the baby?”
“What about it? No one needs to know who the father is.” I said.
“You aren’t going to tell them? You’re not going to use that as a way to get back into Logan’s good graces and back into the pack?” He asked. 1
“Ezra. I will never use my baby as a pawn. Logan is never going to know that this baby belongs to him. He will take it off of me because he will have a right to do that, since this baby will be the heir of his pack.” I said.
“Alright. So, how do you plan on taking that pack back if that’s what’s really going on here? If the pack really belongs to your family?” Ezra asked.
“I don’t know. I don’t even know if I want to.” I said.
“Really?”
“Do you think I want to be the Alpha of all those people who have made my life a living hell? I can’t guarantee that I won’t make them all pay for what they’ve done to me. I could possibly be the worst Alpha in the world and take all of my anger out on the people that caused it in the first place. Which is the entire pack.” I said.
“Well, at least you know they won’t turn on you. They’ll be too scared.” He scoffed.
“This isn’t funny.” I said.
“I know. I just want you to think of all the options here.” He said.
“And that’s what I’m doing. Not that I want to. Anyway, tell me about Cory and your mate.” I said.
“Everything you need to know, I’ve already told you. I found her, we knew that we were mates but she told me that she was already mated to a vampire. And that’s where she was gonna stay.”
“Vampires live forever. Werewolves don’t. How is that going to work?”
“I’ve always suspected that he’s going to turn her into a vampire.” He said.
“A hybrid?” I asked, not being able to contain my shock.
“I never thought of it like that. She would be a vampire and werewolf.” He said.
“Yeah. She would be.” I said.
“Would she be able to walk in daylight?” He asked.
“I think we’ve got more important things to worry about then me and my old pack.” I said.
“Yeah. I think we do. If she becomes a hybrid and she can walk in the daylight then humankind is fucked.” He said.

“They don’t kill humans. But what the fuck happens when other vampires hear about this. They will create their own hybrids to do just that.” I said.
“There’s no one that we can warn.” Ezra said.
“We have to stop them ourselves. If it comes to that.” I said.
“I don’t have any doubt that it will. Vampires are ruthless. They will have no trouble creating hybrids just so they can attack in the daytime.” He said.
“We need to make sure that Cory and his family don’t let anyone know about this.” I said
“I don’t trust them.” Ezra said.
“You don’t have any reason to trust them. But for some reason I do. I don’t know why. I’ll ask those questions when we meet.” I said.
“I need to make sure that werewolves are prepared for this.” Ezra said.
“After we have the meeting with Cory.” I said. And he nodded in agreement. But I could see how tense he was. He was getting more worked up the more he thought about it. And honestly, I was too. I was just trying not to show it.
