I didn’t hear from Cory or his family for the rest of my pregnancy and I was more than happy about that. I was still really confused about what to do. I just wanted to go back to what I was doing before I heard anything about me being a profit. It was more than ridiculous to me. 1

So I concentrated on school and the baby. Made sure that I made all of my doctors appointments to make sure that the baby was healthy and everything seemed to be going great.

The guys actually surprised me one day when I came home from school. They had done all of this in one simple day. They had broken through the wall of my bedroom so my room was attached to the bedroom next door to me and it was painted and decorated for the baby.

It had everything that a baby would need in there. The cot, change table, clothes, bottles ect. It was just how I imagined it. Even with a rocking chair that was facing the large window, so I could look at the view while I was trying to get the baby to sleep. 1

It was absolutely perfect and I didn’t know how the hell I was going to repay Ezra and the guys for doing this for

And of course, they told me that I didn’t have to repay them. This was them doing something nice for me.

I was so filled with emotions that I couldn’t even name them all. No one had ever done anything this nice for me. Not in a really long time.

And it happened just in the nick of time. Because a couple days later I went into labor.

I was surprised that Ezra stayed there with me the whole time.

It was a 9-hour labor and I wasn’t exactly the nicest person through the whole thing. But when I finally gave birth to my beautiful little baby boy, Ezra was still there with me.

I was laying on the delivery bed when they handed him to me wrapped in a blanket.

“He’s gorgeous. Just like his mother.” Ezra said. 1

“I can’t believe he’s actually here.” I said.

“Have you picked a name?” He asked.

“Yeah. Aiden.” I said.

“That’s a perfect name.” He said, kissing my forehead.

If a stranger walked into this room right now, they would think that we were the perfect family. Without knowing the real truth. That Ezra and I weren’t really together and Aiden wasn’t his. Although I had a feeling that Ezra was going to treat him like his own.

When I was moved to a room, they gave me a single room because the Alpha insisted on it and Maddy came to visit

She brought some presents for the baby and she couldn’t wait to have little cuddles with him. And the nursing staff was fussing over us a lot more than any other patient.

“Wow. I guess there really are perks to living with the Alpha.” She said.

“He stayed with me the whole time I was in labor. And he made sure that I got a single room.” I said.

“When are you two going to get together?” She asked.

“What?” I asked.

“He’s in love with you.” She said.

“If I tell you something, do you promise not to say anything? At least not yet.” I asked.

“Yeah.” She said, excitedly.

“Nothing has happened between us yet. Ezra wasn’t sure if it was real or not because my scent and hormones were all different because of the pregnancy. But he said that I am his second chance mate. Which must mean the same for me too. I rejected Logan.” I said.

“Do you have feelings for him?” She asked.

“I always have. Even when I was mated to Logan. From the first time we met I knew that there was something more there. I just couldn’t admit it.” I said.

“So, you’re going to be our Luna.” She said.

“Yeah. Looks like it.” I said. 1

“I can’t believe this.” She said.

“Neither can I. I didn’t think stuff like this happened to people like me.” I said.

“Why not? You deserve it more than anyone else.” She said.

Maddy stayed for a while before she left and I had some dinner.

Aiden woke up and I had to change his nappy and feed him and then I put him back to sleep and I laid down and went to sleep as well.

I was sure how long I was asleep for, but it was night time when I woke up again.

I looked over in the crib and Aiden wasn’t there, so I sat up really quickly and I saw a large figure standing by the window, looking outside.

“Hey. Are you alright?” Ezra asked, turning to look at me with Aiden in his arms.

“Yeah. I just saw that Aiden wasn’t there. It scared me.” I said.

“Sorry. He was fussing a little bit when I walked in but you looked pretty out of it.” He said.

“I can’t remember the last time I felt this exhausted.” I said.

“I can imagine. I wouldn’t want to do what you did.” He said.

“Yeah. I think that’s why women have babies. Not men.” I said.

“Probably.” He said.

I sat up properly on the bed and Ezra walked over with Aiden, but he was asleep in his arms so I didn’t want to disturb him.

“You do know that I’m not expecting anything from you, don’t you? I don’t expect you to help me with him or anything like that.” I said.

“Well, too bad. Because that’s exactly what I’m going to do. Nathan is already trying to find out a way to get Aiden’s first words to be uncle Nathan.” Ezra said.

“Oh, help me Goddess.” I murmured and Ezra started laughing.

“You’re stuck with us. Whether you like it or not.” He said.

I smiled at him as I looked down at his massive hands wrapped around that little baby. And he wasn’t even that little. He was 9 pounds 5. He was a big baby, but he looked so tiny next to Ezra.

Ezra stayed for a little while but I insisted that he go home and get some sleep.

I had to feed Aiden anyway, so he left and I sat back on the bed feeding Aiden when I felt a gush of wind rush past

“You have really gotta stop doing that.” I said.

“Well, if I go at normal speed, the patrols won’t let me in.” Cory said.

“Yeah. Because you’re not welcome here.” I said.

“I needed to talk to you.” He said.

“What now?” I asked.

“The army has moved up their timeline. They have identified a dozen different wolf packs. And they are going to start attacking within a couple of months.” He said, placing a heap of papers in front of me that he had printed

out.

“Where did you get these?” I asked.

“Joseph is a computer hacker.” He said.

“I don’t know what you want from me. I already told you what my priorities are. And it’s this little guys, right here.” I said.

“You don’t get it. He’s not going to grow up unless we stop the army.” He said. Then the door slammed open and Aiden started crying from it scaring him and I looked over at Ezra standing there.

“Get the fuck off of my territory.” Ezra demanded.
