Penelope stood at the end of the hallway looking at me like she wanted to kill me, and let’s be honest, she probably did. I had a feeling that she knew who I was to Logan and I was the reason why they had a shitty marriage and why he never marked her.

My running away would have had something to do with that.

“What are you doing here?” Penelope demanded.

“I’m visiting my mother.” I said.

“Well, this is my fucking house so get the hell out.” Penelope yelled.

“No.” I said, calmly.

“Excuse me. I am the Luna of this pack. You will do what I say.” She yelled.

“You’re only the Luna when you’ve been marked. And you’re not marked. So fuck you.” I said.

“What’s going on?” Logan asked, walking up the stairs behind Penelope

“I don’t want that bitch in my house.” Penelope demanded.

“This is my house. And you don’t get to say who is allowed inside here.” Logan said.

“Typical. The second she shows up, I no longer matter to you.” Penelope said.

“Don’t fool yourself Penelope. You haven’t mattered to me in a long time.” Logan said.

Ezra grabbed my hand and he walked past Penelope and Logan who were starting to have their marital argument and we started walking down the stairs.

“I don’t think that’s anything that we need to get involved with.” Ezra said.

“Hell no.” I said.

Ezra and I decided to get out of the house for a while and we walked into town and started looking around.

I was getting a lot of strange looks from people. People I recognised and people I remembered. People that used to ignore me. Used to treat me like garbage. People that would make sure that my life in this pack was a living hell.

But that changed when someone tapped me on the shoulder.

“Ace.” I said, turning around.

“How are ya?” He asked. And I hugged him.

“I’m really good. How are you?” I asked.

“Not too bad. Considering.” He said. And Ezra cleared his throat.

“Oh shit. Sorry. Ace, this is my mate Ezra. Ezra this is Ace. Logan appointed him as my personal bodyguard. But he’s actually the one that gave me the car to get the hell out of town.” I said.

“Which no one knows about.” Ace whispered.

“Yeah. Sorry.” I said.

“Well, it’s really nice to meet you.” Ezra said, shaking his hand.

“It’s nice to meet you too. Morgan, you look so different now. Healthy. Happy.” Ace said. And I looked at Ezra.

“Yeah. I am.” I said.

“So, you’re living in a different pack. And I can sense a little Alpha power here.” Ace said.

“Yeah. Ezra is the Alpha of the Midnight Pack.” I said.

“Which makes you the Luna?” He asked.

“That’s right.” I said.

“I don’t believe it. I am so glad that everything worked out for you. But, why did you come back?” He asked.

“My mother. She’s going downhill really fast. I knew that I had to see her before she died.” I said.

“I am so sorry to hear that.” He said.

“Thanks. She held on for as long as she could. I know that she was just fighting so much because of me. I honestly think that she’s letting go now because she can see that I am doing a lot better. I’ve made a life for myself.” I said.

“Yeah. Definitely.” He said. “How long are you staying in town for?”

“Honestly, we don’t know yet.” I said.

“That’s cool. Let me know so we can catch up before you leave.” He said.

“I would like that.” I said.

“Alright. I have to get to patrol. I’ll see you guys later.” He said. And he hugged me again before he left.

“So, that’s the guy that helped you.” Ezra said.
