Yvonne's expression turned even more sour.

The office doors swung open, and Jefferson Sterling walked in.

Seeing him, Yvonne immediately spotted her savior. She stepped forward, keeping her voice low and laced with grievance. "Jefferson, about that bet from a few days ago..."

Jefferson's cold gaze swept over Claire, his eyes filled with disdain.

He was just about to put her in her place when he caught sight of the uniquely styled shirt hanging behind her.

There was only one piece, meaning it clearly wasn't a standard design sample.

And it looked exactly like his size.

The man's dark expression instantly softened, the corner of his mouth curving upward.

She was stubborn and her words were harsh, but deep down, she still couldn't let him go. She had made a custom shirt to beg for his forgiveness.

A wave of deep satisfaction washed over Jefferson.

He cleared his throat and looked at Yvonne. "Enough."

"The workplace isn't a playground. If a bet was made, you have to accept the consequences. Daisy, not only did you fail your own tasks, but you verbally abused your colleagues. Sterling Holdings has no place for an employee like you."

The words Yvonne had prepared to defend Daisy caught in her throat, her eyes growing visibly colder.

Daisy turned deathly pale, trembling uncontrollably. "Mr. Sterling, I know I was wrong. Please, I'm begging you, just give me one more chance."

Her legs gave out as she turned to Claire. "Ms. Jenner, Betty, I'm so sorry. Please, put in a good word for me."

Claire remained entirely unmoved.

Daisy wasn't sorry; she was just terrified.

Desperate, Daisy looked to Yvonne for salvation, but the director remained completely silent.

Losing his patience, Jefferson motioned for his assistant to call security, and Daisy was promptly dragged out of the room.

No one in the design department dared to make a sound.

Suppressing her fury, Yvonne put on a display of elegant grace in front of Jefferson. "Claire, Luna Atelier can continue its operations, but you'll have to manage the Crescent Moon Couture project as well. You'll handle the follow-up changes with the brand. It's going to be hard work."

Claire nodded, giving Jefferson a brief glance.

He was acting strange today, actually taking her side for once.
