Miles's gaze remained calm. Beneath the table, he gently brushed his fingers against Claire's, seemingly offering comfort.
"It's backstage," she said, standing up. She wheeled over a display stand.
On the vertical rolling rack sat a long, rectangular object, covered by a velvet cloth.
"Mr. Zimmerman, this is the custom embroidery piece you commissioned from Luna Atelier during our last meeting. I have finished it."
She reached out and pulled the cloth away.
Instantly, a mesmerizing cascade of shifting lights seemed to pour from the object on the rack. Under the banquet hall's lighting, the material dynamically changed colors.
Everyone was stunned.
Not even the most exquisite haute couture from top-tier luxury brands could emit such a breathtaking glow. It was so impossibly beautiful that no one could look away.
"Mr. Zimmerman, this side of the silk is the backdrop prepared for your calligraphy."
In the next second, Claire flipped the fabric over.
"And this side is to celebrate your birthday."
On the reverse side of the Iridescent Prism Silk, a magnificent design was embroidered.
The Eternal Radiance Calligraphy!
The dark threaded lines seemed to flow like liquid ink under the lights.
The sheer force of dynamic brushstrokes had been perfectly captured using only needle and thread, radiating an aura of overwhelming majesty.
For a moment, even Alistair was left in sheer awe.
"Wonderful, wonderful!" Alistair repeated. "Using silk as paper and a needle as a pen! To think there is someone with such incredible talent!"
"Miles, you really didn't need to get me a gift. This young lady is the best gift of all!"
The old man's joy practically overflowed from his eyes.
"Butler, have someone carefully take this."
Claire shook her head, answering modestly, "Mr. Zimmerman, my embroidery technique isn't actually that breathtaking. The most important element is this silk."
"This is the Iridescent Prism Silk, a lost heritage craft from Westhaven Village. If you like it, I can embroider other pieces for you."
"That would be excellent!"
