Vincent was utterly speechless.
Stella continued, "How could you trick a mentally ill person into signing such critical transfer agreements?"
"Not only are the contracts invalid, but after auditing the shares and tracking the cash flow yesterday, what you did is actually a major crime."
Stella delivered the word 'crime' with a cheerful lilt.
But it made Vincent's chest tighten instantly.
"Y-you—!"
Vincent's breathing grew ragged, his voice trembling.
Stella went on. "How did Xander and Valerie end up with so many shares? How could you be so foolish?"
"And Beatrice, she was just pulling cash directly out of the company's finances? Did you really think a Chairman's signature allows you to do whatever you want?"
"Stella!"
Vincent was pushed past his breaking point.
Stella shushed him. "Shh, no yelling. You just woke up, your heart probably isn't stable yet. You really need to take care of yourself."
Vincent couldn't form a single word.
Stella continued, "If something happens to you right now, Xander and Valerie really won't have anyone left to protect their useless lives."
Although, it seemed like even if Vincent were in perfect health, he wouldn't be able to protect them anyway.
Word by word, Stella spoke with absolute gentleness.
Yet sitting in his hospital room, Vincent was being driven completely insane by her soothing tone.
Stella asked, "Regarding the company shares held by Valerie, Xander, and Beatrice... are you going to have them voluntarily transfer everything back, or..."
She paused.
When she spoke next, her tone had lost all its warmth.
"If I have to do it myself, you know exactly how bad the consequences will be."
"The entire finance department has been taken away for investigation. Do you want to take a guess on whether they'll ever come back?"
Vincent gasped. "You... how could you..."
"Vincent, I already gave you a chance."
