Faced with actually handing over the shares, Xander hesitated...
She looked at Stella with pitiful eyes. "You can't do this to me, I—"
*Slap!*
Stella had zero tolerance for her acting and delivered a sharp slap across her face, silencing her instantly.
Xander tasted copper as blood filled her mouth.
Stella scoffed. "And here I thought this wouldn't require any effort."
What a useless, stubborn idiot!
Stella raised her hand. Asher and the lawyer stepped forward immediately, repeating the exact same routine they had used on Valerie.
They pinned Xander down and forced her hand to sign the documents!
Xander thrashed and fought.
But against Asher's grip, her resistance was utterly futile. Just like that, the signature was forged, and the fingerprint was stamped!
The moment the finalized documents were secured, Xander was tossed aside.
Stella looked down at Xander's pathetic state and let out a cold laugh. "You and Valerie have been at this for years. Why can't you ever learn to face reality?"
"In front of me, you don't get the privilege of saying no!"
Xander fell silent.
A suffocating weight crushed her chest.
It was true. In front of Stella, they never had a choice. When their grandparents were alive, they showered Stella with all their affection.
Whatever Stella said, went.
With a single word from her, Beatrice and her two children would suffer.
But now that the grandparents were dead, what right did she have to act so tyrannical?
Xander was completely oblivious to the rumors circulating outside!
Teary-eyed, she glared at Stella. "Why? Why couldn't you just be Julian's good little wi—"
*Slap!*
Before Xander could finish her sentence, Stella silenced her with another vicious backhand.
"You're so annoying. Always spouting garbage that disgusts me!"
Asher remained expressionless.
Xander was stunned!
Disgusted? She said she was disgusted by Julian?
No way...!
Three years ago, she had acted like a complete lunatic, desperate to marry him. And now she claimed she was disgusted?
Xander stared at Stella in shock, her brain failing to process the shift.
