Just as they arrived at the company.
The receptionist approached with a grim expression. "Ms. Channing, Arthur is here. He's already in the executive office."
Asher stayed silent.
Stella raised an eyebrow.
Hearing that Arthur had shown up, Stella glanced at Asher. Asher remarked, "He's desperate!"
Stella smirked silently.
He was absolutely desperate.
Arthur must have gone to the company early this morning and realized the gravity of the situation.
Lawrence was the heir he valued the most.
And now this disaster had struck...
Plus, with all of Sinclair Group's projects suspended, having a heart attack in the boardroom wouldn't change a thing.
So he came straight to Channing Group to corner her!
A mocking smirk played on Stella's lips as she walked toward the elevator. "What do you think that old fool wants from me now?" she asked Asher.
"Lawrence hasn't been released yet, and Sinclair Group is a total mess. He has no other option but to beg you for mercy!" Asher replied.
"Beg for mercy?" Stella scoffed.
She chuckled darkly. "You underestimate their ridiculous sense of pride."
Not even half a billion dollars could buy them a shred of decency toward her over the last three years.
And now, they were going to beg?
He probably still wanted to put on airs!
Just as they stepped into the elevator, her phone started vibrating. Stella glanced at the screen.
It was Vincent calling.
Stella ignored it completely...
Seeing that Vincent was calling Stella at a time like this, Asher stood behind her and said, "Vincent and the others were discharged from the hospital this morning!"
"Discharged?" Stella echoed.
"Yes."
Asher nodded.
They simply had no money left for medical bills...
"Where are they now?" Stella asked.
"Staying at the Steeles'!"
Hearing this.
Stella laughed out loud.
What kind of family were the Steeles? They had forced both their daughters to become mistresses just to subsidize the household.
Now that Vincent was trying to rely on them, "That charity is going to leave a very bitter taste," Stella remarked with a light chuckle.
Stella remarked with a light chuckle.
Asher nodded. "Definitely. Otherwise, he wouldn't be calling you right now."
