Listening to Vivienne's furious, screaming interrogation, Stella let out a soft chuckle.
"What am I trying to pull? Well, if I didn't make the first move, it would be your turn to pull something, wouldn't it?"
Vivienne fell dead silent.
The casual, lazy tone laced with extreme danger made Vivienne's heart skip a terrifying beat.
What did she mean by that?
Their turn? Did she... did she find out?
The rock in Vivienne's stomach plummeted.
But then she convinced herself it was impossible. She had only discussed the plan in secret with the two elders, and they certainly wouldn't have warned Stella.
So she had to be talking about something else.
Vivienne didn't know what it was, and frankly, she didn't care to find out!
Unwilling to engage in Stella's word games, she gritted her teeth. "Release Julian immediately!"
Even through her seething anger, she instinctively fell back on the commanding tone she had used on Stella for the past three years.
Hearing the order in her voice, Stella threw an amused, sidelong glance at Julian's pathetic state.
She smirked. "Once the divorce goes through smoothly, he'll be returned to you fully intact."
Vivienne gasped.
"Remember, I said *smoothly*," Stella continued. "If I don't get a seamless divorce this afternoon, I make no guarantees about his condition!"
The longer she spoke, the softer and gentler her voice became.
But that gentleness was absolutely skin-crawling...
"You'll make sure my divorce goes smoothly, won't you?" Stella finished with absolute, terrifying confidence.
Did they really think they could legally strip her of her assets just because she still carried the Sinclair name?
Why would she ever let them have their way?
Realizing Stella's endgame was the divorce, Vivienne's vision went black with rage.
"If you want a divorce, then get a divorce! Why did you kidnap him?!"
Julian had returned home battered and bruised just yesterday.
