The One I Should've Married (Stella and Sebastian) novel Chapter 65

The early morning air at the international airport was biting cold.

Stella wore the same red Chanel-style jacket and black skirt she had worn to her divorce the day before.

Her softly curled long hair was perfectly styled, her nails flawlessly manicured, and a luxurious watch adorned her pale wrist.

From head to toe, she exuded an innate, aristocratic elegance.

*Screech—*

A black G-Wagon shot toward her like a bullet, slamming on the brakes and coming to a dead stop just inches away.

The violent gust of wind whipped Stella's hair back.

She didn't flinch. Slowly raising her eyes, she looked through the windshield at the man in the driver's seat.

Even through the tinted glass, their eyes seemed to lock onto each other the moment she looked up...

Time froze. The rest of the world faded into nothingness.

Inside the car, the man's predatory, ink-black eyes stared at Stella for what felt like an eternity.

From head to toe, and back up again...

He scanned her meticulously, as if desperately trying to confirm something.

Seconds ticked by like hours...

Outside, even though Stella couldn't clearly see Sebastian, she could feel the heavy, searing weight of his gaze locked onto her.

For the first time in her life, she felt the overwhelming, suffocating pressure he normally reserved only for his enemies.

*Click.* The car door swung open.

The man, dressed in a black silk robe, stepped out. As he turned back, their eyes locked once more.

Meeting his lethal gaze, a faint smile graced Stella's lips, yet the sharp edge she had used against the Sinclairs remained in her expression.

Memories of growing up together flashed through her mind.

Followed by the agonizing recollection of how that parasitic soul had humiliated him three years ago, and his self-imposed exile overseas...

Her initially fierce smile was soon laced with genuine heartbreak and icy anger.

She looked at his black robe.

The tattoos peaking from his open collar crawled up his neck, making his already ruthless eyes look even more savage...

Three years...

What exactly had he endured abroad to develop the feral, bloodthirsty stare of a wild beast?
