Vivienne lunged forward again, desperately clutching Arthur's arm.
"It's a coincidence, Dad. This has to be a coincidence. You can't blame Julian for this...!"
She absolutely refused to believe Stella possessed that kind of power.
If the Channing grandparents were still alive, then maybe, but with them gone, what could she possibly do?
Seeing how she spent the last three years in the Sinclair house doing nothing but cooking and acting like a servant proved she was a nobody.
She was just throwing a tantrum now and acting tough because she was pushed to the edge...
As for the five hundred million dollars and the stalled projects, she was just all talk!
What could she actually accomplish?
She was nothing, so what could she realistically do...
Therefore, there was zero chance she was the one ruining their overseas projects!
When it came down to it...
The Channing grandparents had raised her to be an arrogant, spoiled brat, but she had absolutely zero real skills!
If she did!
Why would she have abandoned the Channing Corporation three years ago just to force a marriage with Julian?
To put it bluntly, she was just a brainless loser!!
Vivienne was fully convinced Stella was incapable of pulling this off.
Seeing Julian and Vivienne still trying to pass the blame, Arthur kicked Vivienne away in disgust. "You stupid bitch. Did I say she was the one orchestrating the collapse overseas?"
With a backhand swing, he lashed the whip across Julian's back again!
Julian choked. "—"
At this point, his chest was spasming so violently he couldn't even make a sound!
Vivienne, kicked to the floor, turned pale. "Then what do you mean, Dad?"
Arthur squeezed his eyes shut. Earlier today, when he received the news from the company, he immediately reached out to the other elite families in the city for help.
But they all gave him vague, non-committal answers. Though they didn't say it outright, Arthur knew exactly why: because of Stella's massive public spectacle, everyone assumed the Sinclair family was about to face the same financial ruin they did three years ago!
Rats abandon a sinking ship.
They had learned that lesson the hard way three years ago. If they were in trouble again, who would possibly step in to save them?
So...
With Stella throwing this massive fit, how were they ever going to get their hands on the Zenith Cipher?!
That map dictated the Sinclair family's survival and dominance for the next century, maybe even three centuries.
Once they secured the cipher, all those families looking down on them would have to beg the Sinclairs for scraps for the rest of their lives!
But the only legal way to claim that map was if Stella was a Sinclair!
He had explicitly ordered them not to divorce...
Arthur's blood boiled the more he thought about it. "You stupid fools."
He cracked the whip over Julian once more.
Julian's face was completely drained of blood, looking practically translucent!
"Dad!" Vivienne's heart bled at the sight.
Arthur roared, "Before you left for the City Registry, I explicitly ordered you not to let them divorce!"
