The chill in her voice was laced with pure malice!
Vincent instantly turned pale. "No!"
Hearing her threaten another gift, he blurted it out without thinking.
Stella replied smoothly, "So, does Mr. Channing know what he needs to do now?"
Vincent was speechless.
What did he need to do?
Give the company back to her? If he gave it back, would they even survive?!
He remembered how miserable their lives were when the old couple was still alive, all because of Stella.
She would constantly whisper in her grandmother's ear: "People need to rely on their own strength, not constantly leech off others!"
Or she'd say, "Human potential is limitless. If they lack potential, just push them harder, and they'll figure it out!"
Her grandmother listened to every word she said.
Vincent used to draw a million dollars a month in living expenses, but the old lady ruthlessly slashed it down to a hundred thousand!
Many times, Beatrice had to save up for months just to buy a designer bag.
And that hundred thousand had to cover Valerie and Xander's expenses as well!
Later, thanks to another one of Stella's remarks, his entire family's allowance was cut to five thousand dollars!!
He was supposed to be the sole heir to the Channing empire.
Yet, because of the old lady's extreme favoritism towards Stella, he lived like a beggar.
If he let her take the company back...
Their lives would be completely over!
That was exactly why, even with Xander held hostage, Vincent and Beatrice refused to hand the Channing Group back to her.
When the line remained silent, Stella's lips curled into a smirk. "It seems you've lived a bit too luxuriously these past three years!"
"So luxuriously that you'd rather risk your precious daughter's life than hand over the company."
No wonder the business was crumbling.
It was being hollowed out by the Sinclairs from the outside and drained dry by Vincent from the inside.
Even without auditing the books, she already knew the disastrous state the company was in.
If she actually checked the accounts, it would probably give her a heart attack!
Vincent argued, "You voluntarily gave me the company three years ago. What gives you the right to take it back now?"
"Did you forget?"
As soon as Vincent finished, Stella's soft, demonic voice answered him.
Vincent froze. Forget what?
Every time Stella used that tone, his chest tightened to the point of suffocation.
Stella whispered, "I am the right!"
Vincent was struck completely dumb!
"I had the right to give it to you three years ago, which means I now have the right..."
She paused, letting the malicious anticipation hang in the air.
Then she breathed out two soft words: "...to take it back!"
"I don't believe you'd actually dare kill Xander!"
Hearing her sickly sweet threat, panic set into Vincent's heart.
But a second later, he convinced himself that Stella wouldn't dare take a life!
