Yorick
I knew my mate was in an alliance bond. But knowing it and hearing her speaking to the man who thinks he’s going to take my mate from me, hearing him say that she is his to care for, his betrothed, his future mate- it was more than Thad or I could handle.
Thank the goddess Zach is a strong Alpha with a strong wolf. He kept pace with Thad for hours until I finally felt in control enough to shift. When I did, I collapsed on the ground, sitting with my head in my hands.
“Want to talk about it?” he asks, sitting beside me.
“He called. The asshole who thinks he’s going to take my mate from me called her, asking why she hadn’t called to say that she was safe. He was worried about her and she’s his to protect.” I snarl the last part. “She’s MINE!”
“Of course she is. We just have to figure out how to make him realize that. Do you know why he entered into this type of bond?” he asks.
“No. I’m not sure if Cyra doesn’t know or doesn’t want to talk about it. I’ve been so busy ruining him for her and I haven’t focused on finding out the details. But that’s going to change. We have a year, and I intend to break this alliance bond between now and then.”
“You know we’ll help you, Yorick. All of us will. I have some ideas but before I bring them up, I want to talk to some people,
I turn and look at him. “I’m not sure if I should be even more worried than I am that you called me by my name.”
He grins at me. “I can be serious.”
“And you’re a good friend. I needed that. Thad needed that,” I tell him.
“Merric hasn’t had to run that hard in a long time. It was good for him,” he says. I watch him smirk and I’m guessing his wolf had something to say about
that.
I stand and extend my hand, helping Zach to his feet. As we walk back, he glances over at me. “You know:
waiting up for you.”
“Yeah. I’m going to shower then go to her. Even if we didn’t already spend every night together, Thad would need to be with her tonight, just to prove that she’s safely in our arms and not his. How about you? Are you going to spend the night with Piper?” I ask him.
He raises an eyebrow at me. “What makes you ask that?”
“I’m distracted, not blind,” I tell him.
He sighs. “I planned on it, but she’s probably asleep by now.”
“Sorry, man. I didn’t mean to cockblock you.”
“This was more important. Piper will be there tomorrow. I wasn’t sure the guy you were pissed off with would be.”
“If I knew where he lived, he might not have been,” I say..
“Have you mentioned this to your family?” he asks.
“No. I’m trying to prove to them and myself that I can make my own way without my Dad or brother pulling rank, But, I’m not so arrogant that I won’t call them if it means the difference between having Cyra or losing her.”
“You know that might mean war, right?” he asks.
“Yeah. I don’t know about your packs, but ours have been in a lot of wars. I’m not saying I want to arbitrarily send my brothers and atles pack but this is about Cyra. This is about the mate bond and her being mine. My father, brother, brother–in–law, hell even Alpha Henry will understat say as we walk inside.

Chapter 220
Zach grabs his clothes and follows me to the showers. We both quickly wash the sweat, grass, and dirt off of us, then say goodnight.
I walk to Cyra’s room and just in case, I knock softly. She opens immediately, obviously waiting for me. As soon as I see her, Thad presses forward, needing to be closer to her. Thankfully, my mate seems to understand and wraps me in her embrace.
When she tells me about Piper’s idea, I wonder if that’s what Zach was referencing earlier. I was serious when I said that I would follow any breadcrumb.
The next morning, I wake early, having barely slept. Thad is still restless in my head, so I wake Cyra gently by sliding inside her, showing her with my body how much I love her. When Thad extends his canines, still feeling the need to make her ours, 1 flip us so she’s on her knees with me behind her. I push her hair aside and sink my canines into the back of her neck. Just like before the feel of my canines in her body is enough for Rina and Cyra to respond. She explodes around me, screaming her release as I pin her to the bed, thrusting harder and faster until I find my own release deep inside her.
When I finally release her, sliding out of her body as I pull my canines from her neck, she turns and wraps her arms around me.
“Better?” she asks.
“It’s the only thing that I can do to placate Thad. I’d apologize, but you seem to like it.”
“Rina isn’t at all unhappy about you sinking your canines into us, but don’t be surprised if she starts returning the favor,” she says.
I lift up and look at her, making sure she and Rina know I’m serious. “I have a spot right here with your name on it,” I say, tapping my marking spot.
“Yorick…”
“Someday. Between now and then, we’re going to see what we can find out about your alliance bond and I’m going to keep researching ways to break it.”
She slides her fingers through my hair. “And what will we do with our lives, Yorick?”
“Whatever we want. We can go anywhere, do anything, as long as we’re together.”
I can see in her eyes that she doesn’t believe me, but I intend to do whatever it takes to make it a reality.
It seems that our instructors finally realized they’d better keep Megan’s people away from me and Cyra, so sparring goes by without a hitch. Next week, it sounds like we’re going to start learning technique. I can’t wait.
At lunch, Piper and Zach are late, but when they come up to the table, Zach leans over, making sure no one is listening.
“After dinner, Tracker is meeting us in the library,” he says.
“Really, you’ve already given them a nickname?” I ask.
“Not me. That’s what she calls herself. The third year goes by Hacker,” he says.
“The other third year goes by Hijack,” Piper says.
“Tracker, Hacker, and Hijack? They sound dangerous,” Cyra says. Piper and Zach just look at us. Of course they’re dangerous. That’s why they’re still here
studying.
“And what are we doing exactly?” Landon asks.
We all lean in. I don’t know why, but it just feels like we need to keep this private.

157 is all gibberish as well. I can't undeestand anything about the famiky leaving, & what her mom is saying about the work sge needs to do in her relashionship.. the auther seriously needs to rewrite or edit all these errors....
The beginning of Chapter 156 is all gibberish.. wth??!!?? Why does this happen all the time 🫤...
Great story but im at chapter 137 & there's a lot of parts where the words are all scrambled leaving the reader to have to try and desipher what is being said. That kind of disrupts the flow .....
It's my favorite book of all the books about warewolves that I've read! I come back to reread it again and again, after finishing another not so enthralling story from another author. I will soon know this story by heart, but it's still way more pleasureable to read than all the rest :)...
