It took me a long time to fall asleep last night. The idea of someone forcing any woman into a mate bond is abhorrent to me. The idea of someone trying to force MY mate into a mate bond, made me feel fury unlike anything I’ve ever felt before.

When I finally did fall asleep, it was with Piper wrapped tightly in my arms, my body curled around hers possessively. If I get my hands on Peter, he will die. If find out that Patrick had anything at all to do with Piper getting sold to Peter, he will die too.

In the morning, I slide inside my mate again. I know I wont see her for a couple of days, but I also need to make sure she smells as much like me as possible. I want my scent on her to be strong enough that it’s like a warning sign, flashing my intention to kill any man who thinks he can take her from me.

Since I know she needs to get back to her classes today, l don’t take the time I would prefer to take, but I make her come hard, multiple times, before I finally let myself come with her.

We shower and while she goes to say goodbye to Gavin, I order room service. They’ve just knocked on the door when Piper returns to the main room with a sleepy Gavin in tow.While we eat, I let him know that I’m going to drop Piper off at the Academy, then l’ll be back to get him and we can leave.

“You should probably try to call the Council on your way home today, Henry,” Piper says as I drive her to the Academy.

“Why?”

“To see if they’ve found Alpha Peter.”

I take a deep breath. “I don’t want to give them the option of telling me I can’t hunt for him myself,” I say honestly.” l’d, rather Q and I find him so word can spread that my brother isn’t the only Alpha to be feared if you mess with his mate.”

“Have I told you today how much I love you?”

“It’s been hours,” I tease.

“I already hate it that I have to say goodbye to you,” she says as we pull into the Academy’s parking lot.

“Two days and counting. We’re going to have to figure something out though. Thursday morning to Friday afternoon, I can handle. But Monday morning toWednesday night is too long. Tyrus is already whining in my head about not seeing you and Fallon for so long.

Alpha Naveah said she’d make accommodations if we marked each other. Since Gavin’s waiting for me and I don’t want to leave him alone too long, I’ll come a bit early on Wednesday and talk to her,” I say as we get out of the car.

She meets me around the front of the car and take her hand, walking with her to the sparring field.

“YOU FUCKING BITCH! WHERE IS HE?”

A young man comes ilying at Piper. Before I can step in front of her, she snarls, grabbing the man by his wrist, spinning him around to pin the arm behind his back and grabbing hold of his throat.

I snarl at the warriors that were about try and pull Piper off him.

“One more move and you’re all dead. Try me, I’m in the mood for blood,” I snarl.

“Now listen here, you little prick. I’ve already taken down one Alpha this weekend. Don’t think I won’t dethrone you from your Alpha title. You’re as unworthy of it as dad and Grady are,” she snarls.

“He’s in my pack,” I say, walking in front of him. I see the other cadets walking over to see what’s going on, so l don’t worry about turning my back on the warriors standing around. “I’m Alpha Henry, your sister’s mate,” | say, showing him my mate mark.

His eyes go wide. “Your brother accepted me as his Alpha and your sister as his Luna, so not only is he no longer part of your pack, he is no longer your concern.” I hear the warriors suck in air behind me.

“As his Alpha and Piper’s mate, I will take it as an act of war if you come after Gavin or Piper again. “Honestly, kid? You literally tried to jump her and she took you down in three seconds. Believe me when I tell you that if she wanted to put you on your knees, make you submit to her in front of your warriors here, she could.

Knowing the strength of my mate, she could probably do it with just her aura. That Alpha she took down over the weekend was a lot stronger than you. He was an established Alpha, a first-born son. She did it withoutbreaking a sweat in front of his entire pack. So yeah, asshole, she could do it. Whatever stupid lies you’ve been totd by your father and brother, were just that. Lies. You’d better get smart real fast and if I find out that you had anything at all to do with your sister being put up for sale, she will be the least of your worries,” I snarl.

Piper’s eyes track past me to Gage’s warriors.

“Yeah, that’s right. Dad and Grady were arrested for other reasons. However, we’ve not only found out that they were trying to sell me, but we also found the Alpha who was going to buy me. When all of this comes out, if anyone else in the pack was part of it, you’ll go down with them,” she growls before shoving Gage away from her.” Get the fuck off my Academy grounds. You aren’t welcome here. Step foot on these grounds again, and I’ll have you arrested. Dad and Grady would LOVE that.”

“This isn’t YOUR Academy,” he growls, rubbing his neck where Piper’s claws punctured his throat.

“Really? Why don’t you ask these folks who this Academy belongs to,” she says, pointing to the cadets and instructors who have gathered around.
