The Pack's Luna: The Pack Series Book 4 novel Chapter 367

Henry

When Gavin and I arrived back at the pack, Quirin was waiting for us. I introduced Gavin to Quirin, then I helped him to get settled in. I could feel his nervousness the entire way home. He’d wanted to know what happened with his brother and I’d been honest with him. I’m not sure_ Piper would want that, but Gavin is an Alpha and he’s seventeen. I don’t intend to treat him like he’s a young pup. Besides that, he needs to know that I’ll always be honest with him. He’s been fed enough lies in his life.

“Piper was right. It does feel different in this pack,” he says when I show him to his room. “It feels… nice.”

“Good. I hope that means you’ll feel comfortable staying here, at least until you decide what you want to do when you turn eighteen,” I say.

“What do you mean? I have to leave when I’m eighteen?” he asks.

“No, that’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying that you have choices. You’re welcome to stay here, but most Alphas, even third sons wouldn’t be happy remaining in a pack as a warrior. Quirin has a Gamma position open, but other than that, my pack and our allied packs have all our. ranked members,” I tell him.

“What kind of options do I have?””Well, just like your sister, you have the option of going te the Academy. If you’re interested in that, we can intensify your warrior training over the next year, so you’re better prepared for the Academy. You’d have to apply soon, I think, but you should talk to Piper about it and get her insights. You could also talk to Yorick, one of the other cadets in the Academy and one of our allies, or any of her friends that you met the other night. We can talk more about it later, but right now, I need to meet with my brother. I’m going to have my Gamma to show you around. When you’re ready, just come downstairs and mind link me. Once you know who is whom in the mind link, you can reach out to them individually, but for now, l can make sure you get to the right person. Also, if you still want to speak to my brother, I’ll make sure he sets aside time to meet with you before he leaves tomorrow.”

“Thank you, Alpha. I know you said you have to go, but can I ask you something first?”

“You can ask me anything.”

“Have you seen Vivienne? Is she okay?”

I smile, remembering Piper’s interactions with her half-sister. “She is. She’s happy now, I’d say. But you can ask Quirin. He’ll know better than I do.”

“Alpha Quirin is kind of scary.”

“My brother is very intense, but he’s an excellent Alpha and he’s a good man. Wait until you meet his mate, Kennedy. I’ll bet you’ll be as surprised as everyone else is.”

“Why is that?” he asks frowning.

I grin, thinking of Kennedy. “As fierce as Quirin is, Kennedy is gentle and kind. You’d never expect that the two of them would make a good pair, but in their case, opposites definitely attract. You’ll see when you meet them. You’ll meet her parents tonight as well, Alpha Warren and Luna Yara. They’re good people. You don’t need to worry,” I say, when I feel him getting nervous again. “Take your time, there’s no rush. Gamma Knox knows that I’ll be calling him when you’re ready,” I say making my way to the door.

“Oh, one more thing, Luna Yara and Kennedy are huggers.

Just go with it. It’s actually kind of nice and their mates won’t get upset by it.”

“Henry,” he calls, just as I step out of the bedroom.

“Yeah, Gavin?”

“Thanks, for everything.”

“You’re welcome. You are family now. I take that very seriously.”

When I walk back downstairs, Quirin is waiting for me.

“Is he settled?” he asks.

“He’s getting there,” I say as we make our way to my, office.

“Is having him here changing our plans, because I was looking forward to watching you kick some ass today,” Q says as he sits down in my office.

“Gavin’s presence isn’t stopping us, but I ran into Councilman Edward at the Academy when Gage attacked Piper…

Q holds up a finger. “Let’s come back to that. Continue.”

I smile, knowing my brother. He’s starting to create a tally of all the asses he’s planning to kick

“Patrick and Justine have disappeared. There’s a new Alpha and he kicked them out of the pack. Besides that, Peter is also missing. The council has their elite squads out looking for all three of them, but as of right now, they haven’t found them.”

He narrows his eyes. “Any idea where the prick might have gone?”

“None. Where does an Alpha go when he loses his pack?” I ask.

“I’d come to you,” he says, making me smile again.

“Have I told you lately how glad l am that you’re my brother?”

“You don’t have to tell me. I know how awesome l am,” he says, making me laugh out loud. He grins.

“It’s been a while since I’ve heard you laugh like that, It’s good to see you back to yourself, brother,” he says.

“It’s good to be back.””Mates are good at healing us. So, how do you intend to find The Prick, The Bitch, and The Dead Wolf Walking?”

“Part of me hopes that they’ll come to me, or possibly come after Piper. Then, I can kill them and save the time on a court case. We already have to deal with Piper’s father’s and brother’s court cases. Killing these assholes would save both of us a tot of time and energy.”

“You’d really kill Justine knowing she’s pregnant?” he asks me.

“Depends on how long it is before we find them. Maybe she’ll have delivered the pup by then.”

“That’s wishful thinking, Henry.”

“I know. For now, I’m going to put the pack on alert and make sure that Piper stays safe. Now that we’ve marked each other, I don’t have to worry about that. I just need to worry about them coming after her.”

“Or you,” he says.

“I’m not worried about me. In my current state, l’d be thrilled to make any one of them a bloody mess.”

He narrows his eyes at me again. “Tell me about Alpha

Gage.”

“I’m ready to spend some time with my mate and pups,” she says, just as their six oldest pups come blasting into the packhouse.

“Uncle Henry!” they shout, rushing to me. I squat down, swinging Kendra and Kaylee onto my back and pulling Quilla and Quinlee into separate arms so I still have room to pick up Quiana and Kyla. When I stand, I see Gavin frowning at me.

“Whose pups are these?” he asks.

“Ours,” Quirin says, ignoring that I have six of his pups when the four boys are brought out from the nursery.

“Whose pups are those?” Gavin asks frowning. Kennedy giggles as she takes two of the triplets while Quirin takes Harold and the third triplet.”Also ours,” he says, purring toudly at his pups as they settle against him.

“And Kennedy is pregnant again,” I tell him.

When his frown deepens, I chuckle. “I told you that, in their case, opposites attract.”

“It’s not my fault I can’t get enough of my mate,” Quirin growls, leaning over their pups to kiss Kennedy, making me miss my own mate. I push that aside as I kiss the girls in my arms.

“I think there is pizza for dinner tonight!” I say excitedly.

“Yay!” all six girls scream. I squat to set them down just as my gate guard lets me know that Warren and Yara have arrived.

“Perfect timing. Your parents just arrived,” I tell Kennedy.

“Oh good. I can’t wait to see what mom thinks about waking Nicolette. Dallas is doing a great job with Philip, but he’s becoming more nervous that his mother hasn’t woken up.”

“We tried to explain to him, Mommy,” Quilla says.

“I know, sweetheart, but it’s scary when it’s your mommy,” Kennedy says. “Should we go outside and greet grandma and grandpa?”

“YEAH!” they yell, then race to the door.”Be careful as they pull up!” I shout, turning to follow them out. “Come on, Gavin. I’ll introduce you.”

By the time we get outside, Warren already has the quads in his arms, kissing them all while Arric purrs at his grandpups. Yara has the twins and is hugging and kissing them before they switch. Then they walk over, kissing Harold and the triplets before saying hello to Quirin, Kennedy, and finally getting to me.

I hug Yara and nod at Warren.

“Warren, Yara, this is Piper’s youngest brother, Gavin.”

In the way that only she seems to have, Yara’s entire demeanor changes and she focuses her attention on Gavin.

“Oh, sweetheart, you’ve had a very difficult time lately, haven’t you?” she says gently. I watch as Gavin’s eyes burn with unshed tears and his throat bobs as he nods.

Yara pulls him into a hug. “It’s going to get better, sweetheart. You have so many people now who are here to support you and who care about you,” she says softly.

I watch as his arms go around her and his hands clench into fists while Yara continues to murmur to him and console him as he loses the battle and breaks down in her arms.
