As exhausted as the entire pack is the next morning, everything about our pack finally felt settled. I know things aren’t settled in our Beta couple yet, but having Piper as their Luna has made an already calm pack feel even more peaceful.

Because I can and because I can’t get enough of her, I slide inside my mate making her come again before we get out of bed.

When we do, she hops up, full of energy.

“Something on your mind?” I ask.

“Well, my utterly fantastic mate started my day off perfectly and now, I get to go enjoy the best gift ever given to me by the best pack ever,” she says, pulling me into the shower with her.

I laugh at her excitement, loving the feeling of contentedness and happiness that is radiating from her.

When we get downstairs, I realize the entire pack is radiating excitement, ready to watch their Luna enjoy her gift.

“Finally, you’re up! I’ve been waiting and waiting to go try out this new facility!” Quirin complains when we get downstairs. When Kennedy giggles beside him, I knowthat it hasn’t been that long. Knowing my brother, he took time with his mate this morning and probaby just beat us down here.

“Can we come too?” Kendra and Kaylee ask.

Piper crouches down in front of them. “I’m not sure what equipment there might be for you to use, but you’re welcome to come check it out. I know that being fierce little fighters is important to both of you.”

“Can Kyla come too?” Kendra asks.

“Yeah, Dad has been neglecting her ..” Kaylee begins.

“I have not!” Quirin growls.

“But we want to help her become fierce like us,” Kaylee continues, ignoring Quirin’s warning growl.

“Well, the same thing applies. I haven’t had a chance to see what equipment there is yet, so well have to investigate together. And if you’re father is going to neglect her training, we’ll just have to make sure we provide her with every opportunity to become a powerful fighter like her sisters, won’t we,” Piper says, grinning up at Quirin and earning his scowl.

Connor walks up, chuckling. “I see Piper already fits right in with this family.”

“Piper, I have to go,” Vivienne says, walking up.

“Viv, it meant so much to me that you were here,” Piper says, standing and pulling her sister into a hug..

“I’m sorry I didn’t get you anything,” I hear her murmur to Piper.

“You gave me the best gift of all, Viv. You.”

“Ilove you, Piper,” she says, hugging my mate tightly.

“Aww, now see. That’s an even better present. Love you too, Viv.”

I nod for the others to go ahead, but I wait with my mate while she says goodbye to her sister.

When Vivienne drives away, I pull Piper into my arms.” You’ll see her again soon. She’ll be at your father’s trial on Thursday.”

“I know. UGH! I didn’t even get to ask her if she found that woman she was looking for. I’m a terrible sister.”

“No, you’re not. You’re a very busy woman who barely had twelve hours with her sister, a sister that desperately needed sleep and got it because she was here, safe in your pack,” I tell her as we walk to the training facility.

When we get there, everyone is waiting outside.

“What are you all waiting for?” she asks.

“You! Henry said we couldn’t try it out without you, so here we are,” Q grumbles.”Well let’s go try it out!” she says excitedly.

For the next couple of hours, nearly every member of our pack and every member of our family tries out the new equipment. Even I have to admit, it’s friggin’ incredible. By the time we’ve tried everything and helped the pups try what they could, my body is sore and I’m excited about being able to use this on a daily basis. It won’t replace warrior training, but rather than training twice a day, I can-split the warriors and have them train once a day in fighting techniques and once in strength training.

“That was fun, Daddy,” Kendra says.

“Yeah. We need one of these,” Kaylee says. Quirin is carrying Kyla who nods in agreement.

“Oh, we are SO building one of these in our pack,” Q says before growling against Kyla’s neck and making her squeal in delight. “Then no one can say that I’m neglecting my daughters!” he says, reaching down to tickle Kendra and Kaylee. They squeal and run off. Kyla pushes to be put down and Q sets her on her feet so she can chase after her sisters..

“We’ll be building one too. That was amazing,” Connor says. He’s rolling his shoulder and massaging his muscles.

I guess I’m not the only one who is sore after that workout. I feel better about that. I thought it was an age thing.

I do notice that none of the Academy students look like they are sore, not even Hacker. I guess they’re used to thehigher-level intensity of this equipment.

“That was fantastic!” Cyra says, walking up. “Now I’m even more excited for our gift!”

“I appreciate that,” he’d said, then he pulled into himself.I let him process, keeping tabs on his emotions as we drove and making sure he didn’t start spinning out of control.

After we picked up Piper, I told her what happened, but over dinner, Gavin remained quiet. It wasn’t until we returned to the hotel that Piper finally asked him what he was thinking.

“What if they think I knew about this, Piper? What if they think I was part of it?” he’d asked.

We’d had a long conversation, a family conversation, about him being too young to understand what was going on and the she-wolves care more that his father and Grady not only DID know but were the reason they were there.

This morning, as we make our way into the court room,our family and friends join us once again, I can feel Gavin’s concern.

When we walk in, the three women are already there.

Piper instantly walks up to them, but Gavin stays back.

“You could go say hello, too,”I tell him.

He shrugs. “They may not trust me. It’s okay. +know Piper will help them.”

“She definitely will. I don’t know where they are living, but we’ll offer for them to come to our pack if they want to, just so you know.”

“That’s good.”

When she arrives, Vivienne joins their group, talking to the she-wolves quietly. We sit in the front row again but this time, the three women are in the row beside us.

Rather than sit beside me, Piper sits between Gavin and the women, quietly talking to them and keeping them calm, while Vivienne sits on the other end of the bench, as if protecting the women between them.

I smile inwardly, thinking about what a wonderful Luna my mate is.

Fallon begins purring in my mind, having heard my thoughts. And being the perfect woman she is, Piper doesn’t get distracted by her wolf at all.

When Gage arrives, he nods at Piper and Gavin. His lips press tightly together when he sees the women in thefront row, but he doesn’t say anything.

However, when Alpha Glenn is escorted into the courtroom, his angry snarl shakes the rafters. His eyes are focused on the three women, and I feel my mate’s smug satisfaction.

It’s time for Alpha Glenn to face the consequences of his actions.
