After we finished breakfast, Olivia and I ended up reconnecting. Apparently, she finds it hot when I am all sweaty from a workout. I sure as hell didn’t rush making love to her. I took my time and made sure she was okay with every single thing that I did, I wanted to erase the bad memories and make sure she was comfortable. We showered together and then got dressed, after cuddling in bed for a couple of hours, discussing what our wedding would look like.

When we finally left our room, it was time for the challenge. We were to meet everyone in the room we used for church, which my dad would arrange into an arena for the challenge. I haven’t heard anyone else wanting to challenge Mike. Some due to the respect they hold for his father and Mike himself. Others due to Mike’s skill in combat alone, but also because of the man he is. He is a good man, a strong man, and, above all, he is loyal and protective of his club.

Everyone was already squeezed inside, which consisted of all the members of the chapters of the Phoenix Knights. The other motorbike clubs that had come to give us aid had already gone home. But even with them all gone, we were all still crammed inside the room we used for church, so we had to squeeze past people, which my woman did not like one bit. A few people saw us and moved out of the way, but the younger bikers of the other chapters, who were a little bit older than us, didn’t budge, even the younger ones. Mike spotted us and I guess he saw the expression on Olivia’s face. “Will you all clear a path for my future VP and future Treasurer, before my future Treasurer stabs you?”

Olivia said, in a damn-near sickly sweet voice, “Stop giving me ideas, Prez. I was only going to knock a few of them out.”

Laughter erupted around the room, as people parted ways to let us through. I heard one of the Knights from the Portland chapter, whisper, “She is a feisty little one.”

I locked eyes with the one who said that, glaring at him in warning. He held his hands up. Olivia returned to me, her hand coming to rest on my chest, as she rose up on her toes to get close to my ear, to whisper flirtatiously, “I will only ever be your feisty little one.”

My eyes snapped to her, as I yanked her against me, my arm wrapping tightly around her waist. I growled, ” Careful, my queen, I am not apposed to throwing you over my shoulder and slapping that ass of yours in front of everyone, before taking you to our room.”

Lust filled her gaze as her body trembled ever so slightly in my arms, making me smirk at her reaction. Her cheeks flushed a pink color. “Now, behave,” I whispered.

I guided Olivia to stand next to my parents. My mother was there too. Old ladies were allowed to witness the challenges for quite a few reasons, depending on the type of challenge. This challenge is so that the new President can prove that he has the loyalty and the strength to lead our club and the chapters. Old ladies were required to attend so that they could watch who was going to be the new president, so they would know who to turn to for help if they lost their Knight.

“Now that everyone is here, we can begin. This right here, right now, is your one and only chance to challenge me for my birth rite, for my title as the new President of the Phoenix Knights. Step up right now for the challenge or accept me as your new President,” Mike’s booming voice called out.

was, but he did just lose everyone he ever loved in a plane crash. He is depressed and trying to get himself killed. He shouldn’t be allowed to do these challenges because of his mental health condition, but the

traditional rules don’t take that into consideration, and once they make the challenge, the President has to see it through. It was one of the rules Mike and I discussed modernizing to take into consideration the better understanding we have of mental health conditions. The other two were young and idealistic, one of whom never saw eye to eye with Mike’s dad. Mike couldn’t refuse to fight any of them.

“Remember these are fights to the death. One on one. No help from anyone. No family jumping in to stop the loser from being killed. The moment you step into the ring, you fight to the death. If you win and kill Mike, you become President. But if Mike wins and kills the first, he moves on to the second and then the third, until he wins all three, and he will remain as our new president,” Dad called out.

Then the fights began, and Mike came out victorious each time. Looking more and more battered each time. But by the last one, when no one else dared to challenge him, Mike stood tall like he wasn’t in absolute agony. He must have had a dislocated shoulder and a few broken ribs, maybe a fracture to the jaw too.

“As no one is left to challenge me for my birth rite, I am your new president,” Mike’s voice rang out throughout the room.

Cheers and applauds erupted from everyone around. I whistled loudly, while Olivia began yelling, “Mike”, chanting his name, which everyone joined in on.

Mike held his hand up, silencing everyone, before he began, “Though everyone will want to call me Prez, only use it for club business, the rest of the time call me by my name. That is my first declaration. Next, there will be some changes, but for now, let’s mourn those who bravely dared to challenge me, and celebrate my victory and the start of a new era for our club.”

I leaned down and pressed a kiss to Olivia’s lips, before she whispered, “Go.”

She knew what I wanted to do. I smiled, turned and looked at Crusher, who was waiting for my signal. I nodded. We made a move straight for Mike. We came to a stop either side of him, as I said with a wink, Sorry Prez.”

Crusher and I lifted Mike up on to our shoulders, each taking a leg. Joining in on the celebrations of Mike becoming our president. He did it. We always talked about how we would take over our positions from our fathers. He never imagined it would be this way, but it is. Mike and me, together, will lead this club into the future. With the help of my woman and our club’s future treasurer, we will be an unstoppable team.

With Mike now president, things will change. Katie will go off to a private high security boarding school. Devil is quieter since Phoenix left, but he is staying and being on his best behavior, hoping that Phoenix will one day return. I, however, intend to plan my wedding alongside Olivia and marry her as soon as school ends. We only have a few months to plan it and prepare for it.

Crusher and I eventually lowered Mike to the ground, and Mike said loud enough for everyone to hear, “I am going to shower, rest, and get my wounds looked at, before I get food. My future VP and future Treasurer need to go plan their wedding. No use hiding it from me. That being said, everyone here wants to celebrate your love story as you tie the knot. So, go start planning it.”

Mike shoved me off towards Olivia, as everyone started asking whether it was true, and that we were planning our wedding. I wrapped my arm around her waist as we both nodded. “Come on, my queen, let’s go plan our wedding,” I said.

Olivia nodded. “Let’s go.”

We headed back to our room to start planning our wedding. I was determined to plan our honeymoon though, and I wanted to make it a surprise for her. I arn thinking I night buy a private island for us. Having her completely alone, would be perfect. I might try to find a place she has always wanted to go to and take her there instead. Maybe buy a holiday home out there for us.
