Daniel’s POV-

Yesterday I could see just how hard Olivia was trying to hold it together. It was why I could tell she was getting tired, she was trying so hard to keep her emotions in check that she exhausted herself emotionally. So, today I let her sleep in. Mike wanted to train early with me. I am not going to refuse him. not now that he is Prez and has lost his dad. I left a note on my pillow, so she would feel it if I was not back before she wakes up.

I walked into the gym and found Mike straight away. He looked like he hadn’t slept much at all. “Moming Mike, are you alright?” I asked, my brow furrowed in concern.

Mike looked up at me, and sighed, “Nah, not really. Was up late with Katie, she was really not handling things well. I have been up since the early hours of this morning, rfiaking arrangements to get her into the private boarding school in Washington DC. So, I am just shattered, but too amped up to go take a nap 1 am hoping working out a little will knock me out.”

“I know. I have been meaning to ask, how is Queenie?7 Mike asked.

“Struggling more than she wants to admit, I think she is worried the old timers will think she is too emotional for her position in the club. Despite what she has been through, she seems alright. She hasn’t really spoken about it, and she is still letting me hold her and touch her, so I can only assume we stopped that bastard from going any further. She has been a little jumpy, but I can’t blame her for that. After something like that, even seasoned men would be jumpy,” I explained, with a sigh.

“She doesn’t need to worry about the old timers being like that. Some of them are too scared of you and her together to say shit. I think one of them said, that you and Queenie, together, make the opening of the gates of hell look quaint. As for the rest, they already respect her strength and skill,” Mĺke replied

“Don’t think I haven’t noticed that you seem extra happy. Something tells me that my best friend and brother has set his wedding date to the girl of his dreams,” he responded.

I sighed, “I really can’t hide anything from you, can I?”

“We decided the Saturday after graduation, we are going to get married,” I replied.

“I am happy for you. After everything, she and you have been through, you both deserve some happiness Mike said.

I nodded, “I agree. Now, come on, you wanted to work out. Get your ass up.”

Mike groaned, but got up. We spent the next hour working out. We stopped when Mike kept yawning his way through his bench press set. If I hadn’t spotted him, he would have choked himself out with those weights because he would have fallen asleep on the bloody bench.

“I think that is enough for today, Mike. You need to go and get some rest,” I said.

“I think you are right. This workout has helped. When wake up, let me know if there are any challenges.” he responded, staggering a little as he stood up.

I caught his arm and nodded, “I will. Let’s get you to your room. Then I am going to get some breakfast, and find my woman.”

I looped his arm over my shoulders and helped him back to his room. He had fallen asleep before we bad gotten to the door. So, I punched in his code for his door lock and opened his door. By this point, (was all but carrying him to his bed. I dropped him on his bed, and left the room to let him sleep.
