Olivia’s POV-

When we got into the common room, Mike approached us straight away. He clearly had the conversation Katie wanted to have with him. I didn’t like that she wanted to have that talk

and I tried to talk her out of it, but her mind was set in stone. It does have me very worried about her being up there all alone, but it is her choice. She is truly trying to separate herself from this life. I don’t think anyone can blame her.

“Did she tell you what she wants?” Mike asked.

I nodded, “I tried to talk her out of it, but she really wants to try and break away from this life. I don’t think because she hates this life, she just can’t deal with any more heartbreak because she loses more people she loves.”

Mike nodded, “It was hard enough letting her go to that private school. Let alone her be rarely here ever again.”

“I know it will be, but all we can do is be there for her when she needs us and visit her when

we can, rather than have her visit us. Something tells me she will want to try and build a life

up there. She loves DC,” I said.

“It will keep her as far away from this life as possible, just like she wants. We just need to make sure to stay in regular contact with her,” Daniel added.

“She is staying in her room the whole time she is there. She will only be coming out for your wedding, and then she will leave to go back to DC, when you guys go on your honeymoon,”

Mike told us.

I sighed and nodded, “That is her choice. We can’t force this life on her, especially when she

has the chance to leave it.”

“We are different, we are firstborns,” Mike said.

Daniel nodded, “We are. Benny just turned up with Megan and his mother.”

Daniel gestured in the direction he had seen them. I spotted them in the crowd easily. Mike smiled, “Good, let’s go over and greet them.”

We headed over to them. Benny’s mother was already staring in the direction of some of the Knights here. “Queenie, Megan has been talking non-stop about the bridesmaid dressing you are getting her in,” Benny said when he saw me with Daniel and Mike.

“I hope she hasn’t told you too much,” I responded, giving Megan a look.

She chuckled, “Only that it is sexy but not as sexy as what I will wear underneath it, which, of course, is for his eyes only.”

Benny’s hand tightened on Megan’s waist, as he growled in her ear. Now, that must be what everyone sees when Daniel and I flirt like that. I smiled at Benny’s mother, Ellie, “How are you finding being here?”

“I love it. Sorry to ask, but that man over there.” She pointed towards Blue. “Is he or was he a police officer?”

“Oh, Blue, yeah, he used to work for the police department, before a gunshot injury saw him on desk duty and he left. He saved one of the old ladies at a bar before her Knight could get to her. How do you know him?” I asked, curiously.

“I think he was a beat cop when Benny’s sperm donor ended up in hospital,” Ellie responded.

“Maybe he will remember you. I know he didn’t recognize Benny, but Benny probably changed a lot from teenage boy to adult biker,” I said.

“I certainly don’t remember him, but then I was hauled away pretty quickly after I beat the shit out of my sperm donor. How come you remember him, mum?” Benny asked.

“I thought he was very handsome,” she shrugged in response.

I chuckled, “He is single and a tattoo artist now, not an officer.”

Blue turned in our direction and spotted Ellie. He smiled at her, and came over to us. “Ellie, right?” Blue asked. Ellie nodded, so Blue continued, “I was an officer that was at your house the night your husband put you in hospital and your son put him in the hospital.”

“Yeah, that was me,” Benny waved.

Blue’s eyes widened in realization, “I have been wondering why you felt familiar to me.”

“Well, now, you know Benny is the same young boy who protected and saved his mother. As for Benny’s sperm donor, he is divorced and dead to us both. So, I don’t have a husband or any kind of partner for that matter,” Ellie replied.

Blue smiled, “There was something I wanted to tell you back then, but given who I was back then, I couldn’t.”

“Oh, really, and what was that,” Ellie asked.

“You are a damn beautiful woman,” Blue replied.

“And, that is my queue to leave, before I take a swing at Blue for hitting on my mother,” Benny
