Chapter 116
Vargas’ POV-
+26 Fount
Months of healing and rehabilitation and all I have to show for it, is fucking nothing. The doctors told me that I would never walk again. I wouldn’t accept that and I couldn’t accept that. I needed to walk again. I can’t run my fucking empire from a wheelchair. My competition has already been
encroaching on my business, stealing them right from under my feet. I am fuming, I have lost my
legs and some of my business, all because of that bastard Daniel. The man who is going to marry
Olivia, the woman who should be mine.
The one thing that has made my entire recovery more infuriating was the constant society news, business news, hell even spanning on to the investors’ news. Their wedding. Daniel and Olivia’s
wedding. Everything is about their up-and-coming nuptials. What flowers would they choose?
What would the wedding dress look like? Where would the wedding be held? Will they write their
own vows? What song would they dance to for their first dance? All the questions, all the
speculation, was all over the society pages. Business news was asking questions like who would
actually be running Anderson Tech. The investors’ news only made a huge announcement to say
that Daniel, one of the greatest and youngest investors in the city, would be getting married soon.
I have seen her countless times on the television being chased and followed by the society press, and I could see it in her expression and the way she moved that she knew that they were there. More often than that, she was with Daniel when the press followed her. They always aimed to catch them together. I hated seeing the way he looked at her, the way he touched her, held her. When I get my hands on him, I will take away all his senses, so he will never again be able to see, hear, touch, or taste her.
Thanks to their wedding being so publicized, I was able to find out when and where the wedding would be held. I certainly wouldn’t be able to catch them at the wedding reception, that was certain. It was being held on the land owned by the Phoenix Knights. There was no way I was going to be able to get on there unnoticed, especially in a fucking wheelchair. But the church that they were going to be getting married at was going to have far less security. It was being held at the largest cathedral in the city. Being able to hold over 3000 people. It will be more than big enough for me to be able to get in with those not a part of the club and easily wait for my moment to
strike.
I just have to decide what I will do. Let them have their moment, and then stab Daniel like he stabbed me. Or I get the car that I had rigged so that I could drive it, and take out as many of them as possible before I run them off the road, while they are on the way to their wedding reception.
I
Running them off the road and being in a car myself would mean that I have an escape route. It is harder to escape in a wheelchair than on foot or driving a car.

Chapter 116
“Boss, another one of your clients has been poached by a competitor,” Diego spoke, pulling me from my thoughts.
He is the only one who has remained loyal to me. Most of my men left me and took what they could with them. Diego was a young man, but smart. He keeps my business running for the most part. If I don’t make it out of this, he can have everything. That is another decision I have made too.
“Diego, come sit. How long have you worked for me?” I asked.
“Since I was sixteen, boss. Eight years now,” he replied, as he took a seat.
I nodded, and he was one of my best recruiters and street sellers. “You are the only one who has
remained loyal to me, after I had my spine severed by that bastard biker. I want to know why?”
“My dad was paralyzed in an accident at work. It was his boss’ fault for why my father was paralyzed. It is why I came to work for you in the first place. I needed the money to take care of my family. When you were paralyzed, I guess it reminded me of my father. I knew you would need help
just like my dad did,” he told me.
“Do you pity me?”
He shook his head, “No, boss, I just understand what you are going through. I know the only thing
that kept my father going was the fact that he had family beside him. You don’t have family beside
you. Only the men that you pay, and many of those men have left your side. I understood what you
were going to go through and that you would need someone to rely on.”
Honestly, it surprised me. I was never really one for getting involved in any of my men’s private
lives, but hearing his story made me realize that I will never have a family like he does. If anyone
deserved my business and what was left of my money, it was him. A part of me wasn’t sure
whether he was telling the truth about not pitying me, but I had grown used to the pitiful stares
from too many of my men and the doctors that I have seen to really give a damn anymore. For now, Diego needed to know what the plan was in store for his future and mine. “In two days, Daniel
is to marry the woman I wanted as my wife. I intend to go alone. I have yet to decide what I plan to
do when I get there. But I want you to get my lawyer here. I am going to give everything I own to
you legally. I can’t run it anymore, not like that. I might as well be dead,” I said to him.
“But, boss, you should keep running the company,” he said.
I shook my head, “I know when a great man falls in this world, and I have fallen. This world we
operate in is too cut throat and dangerous for a man like me, a man stuck in a wheelchair. I am old
enough to know that. I have to pass it on before there is nothing left to pass on. You are the only
one who stayed, so it should go to you.”
“What do you plan to do to them? To Daniel and Olivia?” he asked.
