Chapter 121

Chapter 121

Olivia’s POV-

I held my breath. I couldn’t help it. I held it until I saw Daniel. Then everything but him went away. Now, it was my turn to give my vows. Vows that I had written myself. I was eager to hear Daniel’s vows, but mine first.

I took a deep breath, and recalled the vows I had written. I practiced them so much, both in my mind and out loud. I smiled up at Daniel, and began, “You rode into my life only a few years ago, and you changed it so much. You saved me, Daniel, in so many ways. You made me feel worthy of being loved. You’re my Knight. When I was a little girl I never imagined I would marry a knight. Every girl dreams of a prince, but I much prefer the big strong Knight that you are. Only a true Knight could have saved me when I needed him, and you did just that. I can’t imagine my life without you. Today, I marry you, swearing with all my heart to cherish, love and protect you for all the days of my life. No matter what life brings us, whatever battles lie ahead, I will stand by your side through it all as your wife, your soulmate always.”

Daniel never took his eyes off of me, a single tear slipping from his eyes. I cupped his face and swiped the tear away with my thumb. “Well, I never thought I would live to see the day that you would cry, Daniel. Beautiful vows, Olivia. Daniel, your turn,” Jesus said, earning chuckles from club members, because no one had ever seen Daniel cry.

Daniel let out a breath, squeezing my hands a little harder. “The day we met, you were walking through the school parking lot, in ripped jeans and a baggy AC/DC T-shirt. You were hiding your beauty beneath baggy clothing, but I saw it. I remember you stopped and stared at my bike, and when I caught you staring, your cheeks flushed red. Your beautiful green eyes have held me hostage since. I want to spend the rest of my life waking up to your beautiful eyes. Everyone around us will agree that I am emotionless, or I was, until I admitted how much I love you. You stole my heart before you even knew you had it. I swear with everything that I am and will be to love, cherish, and protect you for every day of my life. I will be there for everything, every step, every milestone, every battle that we have to face. You will never face anything alone ever again, because I will be there as your husband.”

My eyes welled with tears, never leaving his. I remember that day. The day I met him, the first day of school, and I couldn’t stop staring at his bike. Then he caught me staring, and I got lost in his eyes, until my friends called me away. I have fallen in love with him a little more every single day since then. I hadn’t even realized tears had slipped free, until Daniel’s thumb swiped them away. “Don’t cry, beautiful, not on our wedding day,” he whispered.

“Happy tears, don’t count,” I giggled quietly.

“She is not wrong,” Jesus whispered next to us, before speaking louder. “The vows given to each other were given in the presence of all the witnesses here today and in the eyes of God. Now, you exchanged your rings, so all others will know you swore vows to love, cherish and protect one another in the eyes of God and man.”

Mike stepped forward with our wedding rings, handing Daniel’s ring to me, and my ring to Daniel. Jesus gestured for me to go first. We had practice in rehearsals, so I knew what to do without being asked. I held Daniel’s left hand in mine, sliding his ring halfway down his ring finger. “With this ring, I, Olivia Anderson, take you, Daniel Phillips, to be my lawfully wedded

husband.”

I pushed the ring down the rest of the way. Daniel smiled, already taking my left hand in his. He slid my ring halfway down my finger, and said, “With this ring, I, Daniel Phillips, take you, Olivia Anderson, to be my lawfully wedded wife.”

With that, he slid the ring on my finger. He brought my hand up to his lips and pressed a gentle kiss on my knuckles near the ring. When Daniel pulled back, his eyes kept darting from my lips to Jesus. He was waiting for Jesus to say that Daniel could kiss me. The look he had on his face, you would have thought this man hadn’t seen me in a week, hadn’t kissed me in a

week.

Jesus flashed a bright smile, which poorly masked the smirk he had. “By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride.”

Daniel pulled me towards him, his arms wrapping around my waist and back. Holding me tightly, as his lips crashed down on mine. It started off gentle and slowly became more demanding, more passionate. His lips moved against mine, in a world-fading kiss. The cheers and clapping that started the moment we kissed faded away, until it was just us.

We pulled away only when we needed to catch our breath, which drew a few chuckles from the crowd. The Knights knew exactly why he wasn’t stopping kissing me. He had been away from me for too long today and has hated it. He cupped my face with both hands and whispered, “My wife.”

I smiled, “My husband.”

He growled quietly, nuzzling his nose against mine. We turned to face the crowd, Daniel wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him. “I present to you, Mr and Mrs Anderson-Phillips,” Jesus called out to everyone in the cathedral.

I scanned the crowd, seeing all our family, friends, classmates, and my work colleagues cheering, smiling and applauding us. They were all so happy for us. For Daniel and me. Cameras flashed, and we stood close for a few photos, before I turned to look up at him. He immediately turned to look down at me, a huge smile on his face. “I love you, my beautiful

wife my queen” he whispered, leaning in closer to me.

1 love you too, my handsome husband,” I responded, as I reached up and cupped the back of his neck, pulling him the rest of the way, capturing his lips.

After we broke away, another few photos were taken near the altar. We had some taken with our immediate family, the bridal party, and the groomsmen. That allowed our bridal party and groomsmen to get everyone outside to throw confetti over us as we left the cathedral, and get into the car where Daniel would drive us to our wedding reception, with Mike and Katie in the car with us. Katie to help with my dress and Mike for added security. Though all our men were coming with us in other vehicles or on their bikes, mostly on their bikes, Daniel wanted to have another man in the car to help protect me and Katie. So, Mike wanted to come as Katie is his sister.

Daniel led me toward the door, my arm hooked in his, as we headed towards the cathedral doors. We left the cathedral in a hail of rose petal confetti. Cameras flashed not just from our photography team but from the press as well, trying to get photos of us leaving the cathedral Mike was already at the bottom of the steps, by the car with Katie. He was holding the rear car door open. When we got closer, Mike whispered something to Daniel, which made him nod. Daniel turned to me and gave me a kiss.
