Chapter 122

Daniel’s POV-

Remaining in the smiling expression I had as I guided Olivia down the steps outside the cathedral. I wasn’t going to be able to let go of her now. She is officially my wife. I have had to push down the urge to find a quiet corner with her, to stake my claim on her. A part of me needed to do it because she was being watched walking down that aisle by everyone, and the possessive side of me hated it, because no one should be looking at her.

Mike was at the bottom of the steps, holding the rear car door open for Olivia and me. He could see I wanted to know why. I was meant to be driving and Olivia was meant to be in the passenger seat with me. That was the plan. He leaned in close to my ear and whispered, “Olivia’s dress is too big for the front passenger seat, so you two have the back seats to yourself.”

I smiled, and turned to Olivia, giving her a quick kiss, before stepping towards the car. I slid in first, never letting go of my wife’s hand. I shuffled across the seats to the other side of the car, as she climbed in, sitting in the middle of the back seats. Katie got to work helping Olivia get the train of her dress in the car, before Mike closed the door. Olivia chuckled, “I guess my dress was too big for the front passenger seat.”

I chuckled, “Yeah, Mike and Katie said it was. But I think it looks absolutely beautiful. It was truly made for you, so perfect. I really loved your vows. A true Knight, aye?”

She giggled, her fingers touching my cheek, “Not just a true Knight. My true Knight.”

My smile widened, as I leaned down to place a kiss on her lips. Mike helped Katie get into the car, before heading around to get into the driver’s seat himself. Olivia pulled back enough to meet my gaze and whispered, “I never realized you remembered so much about the day we met.”

“Every single detail, because it is the day that my world became all about you,” I whispered back to her.

Camera lights continued to flash outside, as I captured her lips in another kiss. Mike turned the key in the ignition and that signaled the convoy to begin to move back to the clubhouse. We have a large building off the side of the room we have church in. That building remains empty until we throw parties or, in our case, have our wedding reception. That is where we are going for our wedding breakfast and speeches, and then it is our bike ride, where we will ride through the city before returning to dance the night away.

Our car was surrounded by hundreds of bikers. It was the one thing I loved about this club of ours. We stuck together, and when we had big moments in our lives, we all came together to celebrate it.

After the third turn, as we headed out of the city, I noticed it, the same SUV following us. It wasn’t one of ours. “Mike,” I called out.

“Yeah, I have noticed it. Katie, look in the glove box, there are two earpieces. Can you get them out, hand one of Carnage and pass me one?” Mike said.

Katie didn’t ask questions and got to work on what Mike had asked her to do. She handed us each an earpiece. As Olivia asked, “Daniel, what is going on?”

“We are being followed,” I deadpanned.

Mike said, “Anyone got eyes on the driver?”

“Blacked out windows,” Wolf’s voice came through the earpiece.

“Defensive positions around the car I am in, and for god’s sake, do not get clipped. Move out the way if he gets too close. If you do that, take out his damn tires,” Mike ordered.

“Mr. Boss man is pissed,” Katie mumbled.

“Yeah, I am pissed. No one gets to ruin my best friend’s special day and gets to live to tell about it,” Mike growled.

Since I asked him to be my best man, he has been adamant about this day being perfect for me and Olivia. I guess in some ways he feels like it will make up for the fact that he ignored my feelings for Olivia for so long, and allowed his then girlfriend to bully Olivia. Not that he ever needs to make up for it because he didn’t know and, in part, that is my fault, because I should have told him.

The car accelerated as we left the city and headed towards the club. I turned to look behind us, and watched as the Knights were forced to move out of the way because this SUV was pushing its way through them, and it was gaining on us. Our men worked well, they moved into position around it and fired single shots into the tires to take them out. The car behind us began to slow down, as Devil’s voice came through the earpiece, “The tires are out, and he has stopped. We will drag the driver out now.”

I turned to Olivia, and said, “Beautiful, please stay in the car. You look so perfect right now, and I wouldn’t want anything to ruin how perfect you look.”

“Daniel, nothing is going to stop me from standing beside you out there. You are my Knight and my damn husband, the only way you are stopping me from standing beside you is if you knock me out,” Olivia responded, folding her arms across her chest, making it damn near impossible to concentrate.

Mike chuckled, “Stop staring at your wife’s rack, like you want to suffocate there.”

I rolled my eyes, listening to the faint chuckles through the earpieces. Great the others had heard that. Least it would be a damn good way to go,” I shot back, before turning my attention back to Olivia. “You stay back, especially if it gets gruesome.”

Olivia nodded. Katie chuckled, “I will help you out of the car, but I am getting back into the car, and when you are ready to get back in, I will help you.”

“Thank you, Katie,” Olivia said.

I got out the car first with Mike, just in time to see the one person we have been after for months now. Vargas! A devilish smirk spread across my face. A homicidal expression crossed Mike’s face. Wolf dragged him from the car and all but threw him to the ground. Devil was there within a second, checking him for weapons. I moved to help my bride from the car, with Katie’s help.

Gold walked over to us, wondering why he had stopped, but the moment he saw Vargas on the ground, the fury that flashed in his eyes, could only be described as something far worse than a natural disaster. He could scorch the earth with the look in his eyes.

“This bastard tried to catch up with us. Probably to run us off the road,” I said to Gold.

“What are you doing getting out of the car?” Gold asked Olivia.
