The Phoenix Knights MC: Strength of Love (Rebecca Waters) novel Chapter 13

Olivia’s POV-

I hid my phone with my stuff. I knew Harry was going to beat me, and it was not like I could stop him. There is no lock on my door, Harry wouldn’t allow me to have one. So, I tried to barricade it with my desk chair not that it would last long. It never did. I backed away from the door, knowing what was coming, but also to make sure everything was caught on camera.

“Open the door, Olivia. I haven’t got time. I have an important dinner meeting to go to with your mother!” He shouted.

I didn’t say anything, because the next second the chair fell, and the door flew open.

Harry’s head c****d to the side as his eyebrows raised. “You never run, you never hide.”

“And, let you get off on the chase, no!” I spat.

He stepped forward and back handed me across the face, before grabbing my ponytail and dragging me down on to one knee. I shrieked from the pain of having my hair pulled.

“I knew you were too smart. You must have hidden a camera in here. I have looked so many times and never found it. But that is why I brought this, so whoever you were talking to won’t be able to help you.” He said, pulling a small device from his pocket.

A signal jammer. It would have worked on regular CCTV footage, but my camera is far from regular. My own design, and so small, it explains why he could not find it. It uploads straight to a cloud storage with an encryption that a jammer cannot touch. But the downside to him having that, and judging from the design. It would have knocked out cell service in a mile radius, which means c*****e is no longer on the phone and none of them would be able to contact the men that they have outside.

Before I could say anything, he threw me to the floor, using my hair as a means to pull me down. His fist connected with my eye again. But as always, I bit the tears. I learned that crying just made him hit me more. This time my eyes swelled up from the blow. With my one good eye, I just glared up at him.

“You used to be so afraid of me. I always wondered whether you were truly broken, or if you were faking it.” He said, as he stood up.

I winced, “You were mistaken to ever think you could break me.”

He pulled off his suit jacket and draped it on the end of my bed, before turning around and raising his leg up, and stomping down on me. I tried to brace myself, defend myself using my arms from his feet coming down on me. My wrist and arm were bruised and swollen from every blow I blocked. But one blow winded me and delayed me from protecting my head, which sent my head crashing into the hardwood floor beneath me.

A shrill sound echoed through my ears. This must be the ringing people described. I tried to glance around quickly for a way out, everything seemed to move in slow motion, allowing me to see my mother standing in the doorway in an elegant dress, smirking at me on the floor getting kicked in by her husband.

That blow to my head made me delirious and unable to defend myself from the several blows to my torso. I felt my ribs crack and break, blood spewed from my mouth.

That was when he stepped away from me. He crouched down, and said, “No more school for you. My new business partner is after a virgin wife, one who is intelligent but obedient. You will do everything he says, and in a few weeks when you are healed, you are going to marry him and spread your damn legs for him, like the little biker trash that you are. Try not to bleed out. It is important that you marry him, because, well, he has seen our family photos and thinks you're perfect for him. You won’t ever be able to escape him, he will come to visit you in a couple of weeks.”

Great, this bastard arranged a f*****g marriage for me. Does he really think I would silently agree with that? He is absolutely delusional to think that.

He fixed his suit, like he hadn’t just kicked the s**t out of me, donned his suit jacket, and left with my mother, who yet again had watched her husband beat on me and done nothing to help me.

My consciousness began to slip in and out. The head injury is making it hard to stay awake, and the pain in my ribs is making my breathing labored.

I recalled hearing the faint sound of his car driving away from here, before I dropped again. Then I woke to the roar of a lot of motorbikes, before I lost consciousness again.

I regained consciousness, but was unable to open my eyes. I could hear the sounds of heavy boots thundering up the stairs. Then his voice, “Olivia.”

Two strong arms pulled me against a hard chest, that amazing scent of leather and smoke mixed with the cologne he wears hits me hard, as another male voice shouted, “We need Doc here now.”

“Olivia, stay with me. I am sorry I didn’t get here quicker. I should have come here with you.” c*****e’s pain-stricken voice reached my ears.

I willed myself with all the strength I had, to open my eyes. There he was, tears in his eyes, another man beside him with green eyes identical to my own.
