Chapter 14

Daniel’s POV-

I followed closely behind the ambulance, wishing I could see what was going on in there. Seeing Olivia like that has my body boiling. I want to kill the man that did that to her, but I also know she needs me right now. She called out to me, she clung to me, I can still feel her hand touching my face when she tried to

reassure me. Through all the pain she must have been in, she was worried about me. She was even able to ignore the pain the get us to find her phone, because of evidence.

When I did find it, of course, I checked to see if it was unlocked, but no it wasn’t. I handed it straight to

Gold, because he could show that he had it, if she freaked out about it.

In all honesty, I wish I was in there with her. I wanted to be by her side.

With the sheer mass of bikers swarming around this ambulance as well as the police escort, everyone got

out of the way, which I was grateful for.

When we arrived at the hospital, the ambulance went off to the emergency department, but we had to go

to the parking lot first. I was the first in one of the bays.

Dad parked right beside me, and said, “Go.”

I chucked my helmet to my dad, and ran to the emergency department. They were just wheeling her into

the hospital when I got there. I ran up beside Gold.

“I am right here, Olivia, and I won’t leave you,” I said, reaching to stroke her fingers.

Her eyes flickered open slightly, searching for me, as the doctors hurried to wheel her into the hospital.

The doctors were speaking to each other about her, not that I understood much about what they were

saying. They spoke in medical terms to each other. As we got inside the hospital, they wheeled her into an

examination and treatment area, where we were not allowed, a male and a female nurse stopped us,

“That is my fucking daughter, you let me damn well through now.” Gold snarled.

“Calm down, sir, but we need to ask a couple of questions.” The female nurse spoke softly and calmly.

“Gold, calm down,” I said.

“Do you know what happened? Do you know her blood type? Do you know if she has any allergies?” The

nurse questioned.

Gold blinked a few times, so I interjected, “I am a universal blood donor. If she needs blood, take mine.

She is allergic to shellfish like her old man here. As for what happened, she lives with her biological

mother. I arm her boyfriend and she finally revealed to me today that her stepfather was abusing her. I went

to her biological father, here, and told him. We were going to pick her up, when her stepfather came home

and attacked her again. We found her barely conscious on the floor of her bedroom.”

“Were her clothes torn or displaced?” She asked.

What kind of fucking question was that? Oh, wait.

I shook my head, “No, they looked fine.”

“Okay, thank you. We will call you if we need blood.” The nurse said.

“I will be ready and waiting, over there.” I said, pointing at some empty seats, so I began to tug Gold

towards them.

The nurses nodded and ran off in the direction that Olivia had been taken. Gold sat down in a seat next to

me, resting his elbows on his knees, his face in his hands. I sat, staring at the door that they wheeled Olivia through.

“Thank you, Carnage,” Gold whispered.

“You don’t have to thank me. I want her alive and well for my selfish reasons.” I replied, my voice low.

“You have no idea what you have done for me, Carnage. She is a beautiful girl, I can see why you like her.

And, thank you, I had no idea what to say when they asked me those questions. I have a lot to learn about

her.” He said.

“It is okay. She will pull through this, and come out stronger. She is the most resilient person I have ever met. When we can go see her, and when she wakes up, you will see what I see: a brave girl who thinks with

her head and remains calm in situations where most of us would lose our heads. There are probably so

many sides to her that I have not even seen yet.” I smiled.

A huge thundering of heavy boots came charging into the hospital. Prez and my dad were at the front of

the group. All the bikers that came with us to Olivia’s house were here. Gold’s lawyer, who wheeled in

Olivia’s suitcase, and the police chief were all here. They all approached us.

“Is she okay?” Prez asked.

“They just wheeled her off now. We haven’t heard anything yet.” Gold replied.

“I offered them my blood for her, if she needed it, as none of us knew her blood type. I just know her

shellfish allergy.” I added.

“I brought her suitcase, Mr Anderson,” Gold’s lawyer said.

“Thank you for that,” Gold said to his lawyer, though he kept staring at the doors that they had taken Olivia

through.

Chief Briggs stepped forward and said, “I have an officer bringing over a CPS worker. They are going to need to ask some questions.”

“That is why! have my lawyer here. I am going to fight for custody of my daughter, and I will win.

Especially after the state that bastard left her in.” Gold said.

“I understand that, but I ask that you stay calm, because the hospital will have to contact her mother, and

then they will both have to come here, and when they do, I can arrest them.” Chief Briggs responded.

Iwas listening to the conversation, but I was more focused on the door, waiting for it to open. Then I felt a

hand clasp my shoulder, I looked up to see my father’s concerned eyes.

“Are you okay?”

I nodded, but said nothing. I wasn’t alright. I am angry, worried, scared, and fucking useless right now. I

hated every second of it.
