I found Prez and Carnage in the gym getting ready to spar together. Queenie was sitting in a comfortable chair typing away on her computer CB was next to her, typing on his own computer. He pulled back and rubbed his face with a groan, “I need to go and get some sleep. I have been up 36 hours straight.”

“Go and get some sleep, CB. I will finish up,” Queenie said to him.

“Goodnight, everyone,” CB said, as he packed away his computer and left the room.

I wished him goodnight, and headed over to Prez and Carnage, who were now sparring. “Katie is in her room,” I informed Prez.

Prez nodded, and kept sparring with Carnage. I moved to sit with Queenie. “How is she?” Queenie asked, not looking up from her computer.

“She is pissed about me being her bodyguard: She has a lot of fear, anger and sorrow in her though. She needs to find an outlet for that before she spirals,” I said.

“She told you what she went through,” Queenie inquired.

I nodded, and said nothing. Prez stopped and growled, “She told you.”

“She did, but not because she trusts me. It was more like she broke down, because she thought no man would ever want her again,” explained.

“Why would she think that?” Prez asked.

“She has some scars,” Queenie replied.

“And what did you tell her?” Prez asked.

“That any real man wouldn’t care about her scars, and would love her all the same. I told her that the scars are, stories of what we survived,” I replied.

“Why would you say about scars?” Prez asked.

I sighed, “You would all nag me to take my shirt off while we work out, and honestly, I couldn’t brave taking it off, even in front of you. I will show you why I couldn’t. I showed her, so she could understand that I was right where she is right now. Afraid no one would ever love her, because of the scars she has.”

I shrugged my cut off and took iny T–shirt off, and turned so they would see my back and the scars that littered it. They gasped. “I know you guys know that I was tortured on my last tour and that is why I got honorably discharged from service. But now you have seen it. How bad the scars are,” I told them.

“We all have scars. I have a few. Carnage has more than me. No one will ever judge you around here,” Prez smiled, reassuringly.

“Wear them like a badge of honor. Turtle does some amazing scar cover–ups with tattoos, if you are worried about them that much,” Carnage said, as I slipped my T–shirt back on

“He covered up Carnage’s scars really well. I didn’t notice them until I ran my fingers across his body,” Queente added, as she eye–fucked Carnage.

He chuckled, “Is my Queen liking what she sees?”

“When don’t I? Have you looked in the mirror?” Queenie asked, winking at Carnage.

“Not really, I spend all my time checking out my sexy as fuck wife,” he smirked at her.

Prez chuckled, “Man, you two make me feel like a third wheel all the time.”

“I feel like a fourth wheel,” I laughed.

Those two made everyone feel like that. But I can’t think of a couple more right and more perfect for each other than those two. They have what we all want. Something I know I want. I really hope that I find it with Katie. She needs time for that.

“What exactly did he do to her?” Prez asked.

“I am not saying everything that she said, but he used and abused her in every way. I am angry enough to carve him up into little pieces and feed him to the sharks,” I replied.

Prez’s face went red as he nodded with a dark laugh, “That is not a bad idea. Turn him into chum.”

Queenie gasped next to me, and we all turned to look at her. “What is it, my queen? Is the baby okay?”

“Yeah, our baby is fine, handsome. I gasped, because of what I just found. I was going over the take–downs over the last few decades, to see if there was a correlation between who we have taken down and what we know of Vargas. Figured I could research that to give us some idea of what Phoenix was talking about,

Queenie explained.

“And, what did you find?” Prez asked.

“We seem to have had a lot of run–ins with a cartel out of Mexico. The same cartel seems to have made a lot of payments to Vargas. There were some big run–ins with cartels, around the time that you lost your mother, Mike,” Queenie replied.

I had heard briefly about his mother, that the clubhouse had been hit and she had just vanished. Prez asked, “Do you think that this cartel is the reason my mother disappeared?”

“I don’t think so, at least not from what I am seeing. I can only see the payments from the cartel to Vargas. He is very much connected to them, which confirms what Phoenix said. We just need more information, which Phoenix will have,” Queenie said.

“Well, if we got to wait till Phoenix gets here, it is time for you to get to bed, you need to have a massage, before sleeping,” Carnage winked at Queenie.

Yeah, totally getting a massage. Must be code for sex. It is clear that they are going to go have sex, those two never stop. Prez looked at his watch and then at me, “Are you free to train for a little bit?”

“Yeah, I am free. Not like I sleep much anyway. Do you mind me taking my T–shirt off?” I asked

“Go for it,” Prez replied.

“You know, you don’t ever have to ask. No one would ever judge you. Hell, I came here covered in bruises and no club member judged me,” Queenie said.

“So, did someone judge you,” I asked.

Queenie nodded, “Yeah, only because I was new, and she didn’t know who I was. She also wanted my ma to herself.”

“God, that bitch still makes me cringe. I am glad we got rid of the club whores, they were causing too much trouble,” Carnage said.

I chuckled, “I am glad I never met them.”

Queenie chuckled, “They would have acted like bitches in heat around you with those arms and chest.”

Carnage growled, “Are you checking out other Knights?”

Queenie rolled her eyes at him, “Not like that, I am their Treasurer, so I pay attention to their health, strengths and weaknesses. But tell me I am wrong. They would have been like that.”
