Chapter 18
Olivia’s POV-
With the door now closed, was alone with my biological father for the first time since I met him. When
our eyes locked, we just stared at each other. Neither of us said anything for a while. We were trying to
remember everything we could about each other.
“Where to begin?” Dad finally whispered.
“Will they be letting me come home with you?” I asked.
Dad nodded, “I wouldn’t have it any other way. You are my daughter. I know we haven’t really had the
chance to properly bond, because of your mother. I want for us to be able to do that. I want you to know
you will have your own room in my house, and that my house is on land owned by the Phoenix Knights. It
has the best security. I will buy you whatever you need. I have also made financial arrangements for you as
well, so you will never be without money again. I know you know who I am in the business world. My business will be yours one day when you are ready and if you want it. Same with my place in the Phoenix
Knights.”
“Really? You have done all that already,” I gasped.
“I should have done it before you were born, but you know what happened. So, I am doing it now. You are
the only child I have and will ever have. You are my only blood family that I have left.” He replied.
“So, shall we just ask and answer questions?” I asked
“I think that is a good idea,” he smiled, reaching out to hold my hand.
“Will you let me date Daniel? I was never allowed to date when I lived with them.”
He raised an eyebrow as he said, “Do you like him?”
I looked down as my cheeks flushed red and a smile crept across my face. I nodded, “I do like him.”
“Well, I am going to be protective of you, no matter who you date. But I will concede the fact that I have known Daniel since he was a baby, and he is a good young man. Seeing the things he has done for you today, how much he cared for you, how much he knew about you, I have realized how much he loves you. He is the kind of man I would have preferred you to be with. So, I have no problem with you dating him.”
Dad smiled.
I smiled, “Good because he asked me to be his girlfriend, and I said yes.”
“Good, because in the biker world, unclaimed women are hit on relentlessly. Being his girlfriend is a small claim, but it would keep them away from you for a while.” He smiled.
“I know. Um… can I get a bike?” I asked.
“She wouldn’t let you have one, would she?” I shook my head, so he continued, “I hope you will let me buy

your first bike, and teach you to ride it.”
A huge smile crept across my face, making him laugh. “Take it, you have always wanted one.”
I nodded, “God yes. + have always wanted one. I would always stare at Daniel’s Harley.”
“That young man has more than one bike. He has about six, if I remember rightly. One day, you will have
that many.” Dad chuckled.
“I would like that. I want to get a new truck, because that one I do have i brought with the money I got from my part–time job.” I said, gesturing quotation when I said part–time job.
“Do you have a part–time job?” He asked.
“I did have one. I handed in my resignation because I thought I was going to have to run away. My egg donor and the bastard only knew of that one’s existence.” I replied
Dad raised an eyebrow at me and said, “You mean your secret job as Nova?”
“You know about that,” I whispered.
He nodded, “CB, Cyber Blaze, the hacker in our ranks, he went fan girl over you when he discovered who
you were.”
“You tried to track my phone?”
“Yes, we did, worried about your safety.”
“You had your reasons. I completely understand. But yes, I am she,” I said.
“I never saw a camera in your bedroom. How did you get the recording?” He asked.
“I created a near microscopic camera that connects straight to a cloud storage system that is transmitted through encrypted radio wave lengths directly to an app I programmed on my phone, which is programmed to pick up the radio wave lengths and to download them into a digital video. No need for a Wi–Fi connection.” I explained, watching my Dad’s jaw drop.
He blinked several times before asking, “When did you create that? How old were you?”
“Let’s see, I built my first laptop and prototype camera at eight years old, and had the program on there until they brought out smartphones. My first smartphone I got when I was ten years old, and then I made the program into an app to put on my phone.” I responded.
“My little girl is a genius. How about when you are better, I can take you to my company, and I can show you around?” He offered.
I nodded, “I would love that. I have always loved the idea of working with technology, but I avoided it because they hated seeing me build my computers. So, instead, I focused on programming as it was numbers, and I could say I wanted to be an accountant. It also helped to hide who was in the hacker
world.”
Claim
“So, what are your dreams? Now you know that you don’t have to worry about money to go to college or
worry about having to focus on accounting.” Dad asked.
I chewed on my lower tip as I thought about it. I get to decide what I want to do for myself now, not because I had to hide what I wanted to truly do or had to choose in a hurry to get away from Harry and my
egg donor.
“I was going to go into business studies specializing in accounting. But maybe I could go into business
studies and computer programming. I will have to find out if I can do that.” I replied.
“And, maybe I can get you in as an intern at my company, you can learn the ropes while studying. If you
wanted to take it over one day, it would be a good start for you. But take your time deciding, even if you
defer for a year.” He suggested.
“I will think about it,” I said, as a knock sounded on the door.
The door opened, and the doctor walked in with the nurse from earlier. I spotted Daniel leaning against the
door frame, his arms folded across his chest. He looked like he was standing guard at the door. He must
have felt me staring at him, because he turned to look at me and winked. I blushed at him winking at me.
He smirked, and I looked away.
Dad turned to look at Daniel and then chuckled, “Get in here, Carnage.”
Daniel didn’t hold back. He rushed into the room and closed the door as the doctor went over my vitals
and asked me, “How are you doing? Have you eaten?”
“I am in pain, doctor, but it’s bearable. I don’t feel dizzy or sick. I do feel quite full now, after what I ate.” I
replied.
“And what did you eat?” the doctor asked.
“One bacon croissant and some of his breakfast baguette, which had bacon, sausage, and egg in it.” I
replied.
“No pain or discomfort when eating or talking?”
“A little when swallowing, but that is to be expected with bruising to the neck.” I sighed.
“A smart kid, aren’t you? I heard some of what the guys said out there.” He said.
“She is a genius. My daughter is a genius,” Dad bragged.
I chuckled, “Well, I clearly don’t get my intelligence from my egg donor, so wouldn’t that make you a genius
too, Dad.”
“I do try to be, but I think you might be even more intelligent than me.” Dad smiled.
I smiled at him before turning to look at the doctor and asking, “When can I be discharged?”
“Well, I want to do another set of X–rays, just to be safe. But your vitals are good, and you are appearing to be recovering well. I understand that you have a medically trained doctor outside waiting for you as well.
