Chapter 23

Olivia’s POV
The next morning, I was woken up early by the smell of bacon being cooked. My egg donor never cooked bacon for me, only for Harry. I changed into some jogging bottoms and T–shirt and headed downstairs. I found my biological dad cooking bacon and eggs for breakfast, for both of us, which was amazing. We sat and ate, before we headed off upstairs. Dad said he was going to change into a suit after a shower. I decided I wanted to wear something I had never really worn around Daniel.
Okay, I wanted to drive him crazy.
I showered and brushed my teeth before dressing in a black denim mid–length skirt, which stopped at mid–thigh. It showed some bruises on my leg from where Harry stomped on me. But the more bruises that
can be seen, the better.
I slipped on a tight red cami top, and wore a white shirt over the top, which I tied the front together just
beneath my bust and rolled my sleeves up. My hair up in a high ponytail. I slipped on my Vans, before
grabbing my small handbag, which I had already placed my make–up in, and leather jacket. I then headed
to meet my dad downstairs.
I found him sitting on the couch, dressed in a very expensive suit. He looked every bit of the powerful and wealthy man I have seen in the business magazines. It was a complete difference from his denim and
leather. He looked up and smiled when he saw me.
“You look different, wearing a skirt to drive a certain young man crazy?” he smirked.
I chuckled, “I don’t think he has ever seen me in a skirt before, and it has been a long time since I chose to
wear one for me.”
“You are gaining confidence. I am glad that you are. But I am worried about you showing your bruises,”
Dad said.
I sat down on the couch next to him and took his hand in mine. He squeezed it tightly, rubbing his thumb
r across my hand.
“I understand you are worried. But I want the judge to see what I was subjected to. Then I will go to the bathroom and cover the ones on my face, before we go shopping,” I told him.
“You are a brave young woman. I am proud to have such a perfect daughter, who grew up under such horrible circumstances,” he smiled at me, just as a knock on the door sounded.
Prez walked in with Dragon, Mike and Daniel. He was last through the door. The moment Prez walked through the door, Dad got to his feet, buttoning his suit jacket up.
“Are we ready to go?” Prez asked.
Dad nodded and held his hand out to me, “Come on, princess.”

Hook his hand as he helped me to my feet. I turned around to fully look at the guys.
“Good morning, everyone,” I smiled at them, until I locked eyes with Daniel.

I got gruff good mornings from everyone, as Daniel’s eyes roamed up and down my body. I slipped my leather jacket on as Daniel moved towards me. He pulled me in for a hug, as he whispered, “Good morning, my beautiful queen. I love the skirt. How are you feeling this morning? Have you eaten, taken your medicine?”
“Already so worried about me. I had bacon and eggs for breakfast, and yes, I had my medicine. I have my next dose in my handbag,” I replied.
Daniel cupped my face as he leaned in and pressed his lips to mine. He pulled away, resting his head
against mine, “I would love to keep kissing you, but we need to get going. You are going to be riding in an
SUV with your dad and me. A prospect will be driving.”
“Let’s go. I want to get this court stuff out of the way,” I sighed.
Daniel took my hand, grabbed my handbag, and led me out to the car. Everyone was already there. Katie was also going to ride with us, in the SUV. Dad and Daniel were going to be sitting in the back with me. It
was a two–hour drive to the courthouse.
Daniel helped me out of the SUV and held my hand the entire time. It was nice to know he was there and wasn’t letting go. Dad kept his arm around my shoulders as our lawyer approached us. He filled us in on the information we needed to know who the judge was and if my egg donor had a decent lawyer. Turned
out she did.
When we got into the court building and were waiting for our case to be called, my egg donor called out my name. I just tucked in closer to my dad and squeezed Daniel’s hand tighter. Dad signaled and all the guys swarmed around us, creating a protective shield. They were acting like bodyguards and that I like the most. They all made me feel safe, especially Dad and Daniel. Katie and Beth stuck close to me as well. Beth is Daniel’s Mum. She has been so warm and welcoming,
We got called in, and I went to the front with my dad, sitting next to him. Daniel sat on the benches just
r behind me, trying to reassure me that he was there.
The judge came in and heard the case. The lawyers took their turns in arguing their client’s cases. Then the judge asked me to speak, he said, “Young lady, you are more than old enough to make your own decisions. I would like to hear what you have to say.”
I squeezed Dad’s hand, and he gave me a small nod with a reassuring smile. I stood up and spoke calmly, “Since I was eight years old, all I have known is Harry Jones‘ unending abuse. My bones have been broken, my skin bruised, my internal organs punctured. I have choked on my own blood. I have gone days without eating because of him and Angela Jones. She did nothing to stop it. I do not want anything to do with thern anymore. I planned to run away, using my hard–won early admission into college to escape. But if it wasn’t for my boyfriend and his friends, I would never have found my biological father. Both my boyfriend and my father have done nothing but take care of me. They make sure I eat, that I rest, and follow the

instructions of the doctors. When that woman and her husband left me on the floor of what was my bedroom, a place I should have been safe, I would have died choking on my own blood, if it wasn’t for my boyfriend bringing my father to rescue me. I should never have been put in this situation. I would have been loved and taken care of if I had lived with my father since birth, but that woman took that chance away from me and away from my biological father. I want to stay with my biological father. I know I will be safe there. I want him on my birth certificate and I want my name changed. I want to be known as Olivia Anderson, because that should have always been my birth name.”
“Well spoken, young lady. I am going to rule in favor of everything you have asked for. You are going home with your biological father. Mr. Anderson, you are a lucky man to have such a daughter who grew up to
become this wonderful intellectual young lady. I hope you will treasure her far more than her biological
mother ever did. As for you, Mrs. Jones, I will be issuing a restraining order as well. You will not be
permitted within 500 feet of your daughter, as your actions go to show just how poor a mother you truly
are,” the judge declared, before slamming his gavel down.
“We… we won,” I whispered, a little shocked.
I didn’t want to hope that we would actually win, given the length of time I have been with my biological father is far less than the length of time I was with my egg donor. I was so very relieved that he said I
could go have everything I wanted.
I looked up at my dad, who had stood shaking hands with his lawyer, and was already sorting out paperwork with his lawyer. I stood up, and Dad spun to me straight away, “Are you okay, princess?”
“I get to stay with you,” I whispered, throwing myself at him.
I buried my face in his chest and sobbed tears of joy. He wrapped his arms around me, rubbing my back in
circular motions.
“Forever, princess. You will live with me until the day you marry, I hope. I am going to take good care of you and protect you. I love you, princess. I always will. Now, how about the guys, take you, Beth and Katie to the bathroom, you can freshen up and do your make–up like you wanted to do? I can get the paperwork finished off here and then meet with you, and we will go shopping,” he said, as he pulled away and wiped
