Chapter 28

Olivia’s POV-

As much as I was nervous about going into Prez’s office with them all to find out this information, I knew

whatever it was, it was important. I couldn’t ignore whatever they had to say. With everything I have been

through, I will not let fear take control of me ever again.

I sat down on the couch in Prez’s office, Daniel sat next to me pulling me close to him, wrapping his arm around me. After that kiss, his touch was driving me insane. Dad sat in the armchair, while Prez and Dragon sat on the couch opposite Daniel and me. “So, what is going on?” I asked.

“Chief Briggs called Prez and gave him a number that Harry Jones had called shortly before he committed suicide in jail. They found him hanging in his cell,” Dad replied.

I scoffed and then let out a short brief laugh, one of relief. All I felt was relieved that he was gone, but

angry that he took the cowards way out. “Are you okay, princess?”

“Relieved that he is gone, but angry that he was a coward. Is that normal?”

“Perfectly normal, my beautiful queen,” Daniel said, rubbing my back in a circular motion.

“What are you going to do with that number?” I asked.

“I have given it to CB to look at, see what he can find. Until then, you should not go anywhere alone. I will have someone escort you, kids, when she goes back to school. I would also like for Doc to take a look at your wounds every other day. If you want to take after Gold, then we need to start training you to fight as soon as possible. For that to happen, we need to see you working out, figure out what you are capable of,”

Prez explained.

“The weekend after you are back at school, we will have to go on a run, so you will need to stay here at the clubhouse with the rest of the kids,” Dad added.

I nodded, “That is fine. Listen, I will do anything I can to help. All I ask is to be kept in the loop.”

“You have our word there, princess. When you go back to school, promise me you will stay close to Carnage and the rest,” Dad said.

“I promise I will.”

“We just need to ask a few more questions,” Prez said.

I nodded. “Do you know any of Harry’s business associates?” Dad asked.

I shook my head, “Events that I was dragged too. I spent most of my time hiding in the bathroom. I didn’t trust Harry or his business associates. I don’t know why, but there was something off about Harry and his businesses. I had to stop myself from hacking into his systems to find out what they were all about more than once. Under their roof, it wasn’t exactly safe for me to be hacking into his company.”

“Was there anyone you were told to stay away from by Harry or your mother?” Dragon asked.

I paused thinking hard, going over as many memories as I could remember. My eyes widened, as I

whispered, “Harry’s brother, Pete.”

“What about him, princess?” Dad asked. The tone of his voice said it all he was angry but holding back.

“Uh… when… when I started going through puberty, my egg donor would tell me to lock myself in my room, even telling Harry I was in trouble and was to stay in my room. I would get beat later, but it was always on a day that Pete would come around for dinner. When I left late to meet with my friend Megan for an assignment, Pete had already arrived. He had this look in his eyes when he saw me, it made my skin crawl. I put two and two together, made it my mission to never be home when he was around,” I replied, struggling to find the words at the beginning, I mean what girl wants to talk about their puberty to their dad

or any men nearby.

“Prez, when we find him, you don’t mind if I do the honors,” Dad growled lowly.

“Oh, he is all yours. I will get CB to pull up everything he can on Pete. He has the same last name as Harry, right?” Prez nodded to my dad, before turning and directing the question to me.

“He does. Dad, gauge his eyes out for me,” I said, looking my dad straight in his eyes.

Everyone in the room chuckled, as Dad smirked, “That is my little princess. Yes, I will gauge his eyes out

for you.”

I looked around at everyone, and I could see the hope they had for me, because they could see the strength I had in me. I smiled up at Daniel, as he leaned in and pressed a kiss to my forehead. Dad cleared his throat and said, “I need to help with security and other things here at the clubhouse tonight till late. As long as you stay with Carnage and let us know if you go off of club land, I don’t mind what you do. Just make sure you eat, take your medicine and rest.”

“Well, if my queen is feeling up to it, I will take her for a walk down to the pond. Then I will bring her back here to eat dinner, and we will hang out here with everyone until you are finished, Gold,” Daniel finally spoke, making the perfect suggestion for the rest of the afternoon.

Dad nodded, as Daniel turned to look at me, waiting to hear my answer. “I would love that. After dinner, you are being challenged to a game of darts. I saw the darts board,” I said excitedly.

“I am down for that. Maybe we can have a game of pool afterward as well,” Daniel said.

“As long as we can team up, I have never played before,” I admitted.

“Anything for you, my queen,” Daniel smiled, handsomely.

“Before you lovebirds run off to enjoy the sunset, the next time we call church and you kids are expected to be there, you need to be there, Olivia,” Prez said.

I nodded, “I will be.”

“Good, your bike and leathers will arrive tomorrow, same with your cut, which is just a plain member’s one.

One gets chosen for me. Who would have that right? My dad? I guess the puzzled look on my face said enough. Daniel chuckled, “I get to choose a road name for you, if you will let me.”

“I like that idea, because I have no idea what to pick,” I replied.

“Well, you two, have a nice walk, and keep your phones on loud. Try not to practice baby making outdoors.

Some of the houses have views of the pond,” Prez said.

My cheeks began to burn, as they turned a bright red. Daniel and Dragon chuckled, but my dad just

scowled, “There will not be any baby making. I am too young to be a grandpa, and you are too young to be

a mother.”

“College first,” I said, as I stood up, knowing Daniel would follow.

“I agree with you there, plus your first time will not be by a pond,” Daniel said, making my cheeks flush.

I stepped over to my dad and hugged him. He wrapped his arms around me tightly and whispered, “We will have a chat later when I finish what I need to do. Stay with Carnage. That young man will keep you safe.”

“I will,” I smiled, stepping away and sliding my hand into Daniel’s hand.

I waved goodbye to my dad and the others, as Daniel led me from the clubhouse and down to the pond. A few asked where we were going, Daniel just said for a walk alone, and told them to fuck off.

We took a slow walk down to where the pond was. I was letting Daniel lead the way because I had no idea where we were going. I trusted him to show me the way. The path was well trodden so it was clearly well–used, but then he stirred me down a less used path. I hesitated for half a second, which made Daniel chuckle, “Trust me. It is a secret place that only Mike and I know about. We built it, so we could have somewhere to hide away from the stress and the pressure on us. But we also made it a little space where one day we could bring our old ladies.”

“But I am only your girlfriend,” I whispered, as we pressed forward.

“And, one day, I want you to be my old lady. That is how deeply I feel for you. I wanted this place to be our sanctuary, a place outside where we are alone, and aren’t watched by everyone.” he replied, as he stopped in front of what appeared to be a hedge wall completely surrounded by trees.

You couldn’t see it from the well–used path, because the woods were quite dense. He stuck his hand into the hedge, and pushed downwards, before pushing his arm forward. They had literally made a door in the hedge wall that looked damn near identical to the rest of it. It really made for a great hideout.
