Chapter 81

Daniel’s POV-

I have been a ball of nerves all day, and now here I am down on one knee in front of the woman I love with

the press filming every second of it, while our friends and family and millions of strangers watched. Gasps

had erupted from most of the crowd around us, but that seemed to fade away into the background. I have

always found it difficult speaking about my feelings, especially to others, but with Olivia, my queen, it

came easy. I squeezed the box in my hand a little tighter, as I took a deep breath. I was a little nervous

about the ring. I really hoped she liked it.

The ring was an 18ct gold band, with a 12ct oval diamond, surrounded by 20 0.006ct rubies, with 4 0.15ct

rubies on either side of the oval diamond along the band of the ring. The inside of the ring was engraved with the message “Forever Carnage’s Queen.”

It cost a fortune, but she deserves nothing but the very best for the rest of her life, and I intend to be the

one that gives that to her.

“Olivia, I fell in love with you the moment I saw you. Every day since then, I have fallen deeper. You are my

world, my life. I can’t imagine my world, my future without you there beside me. I was always told when

you know, you know. I know you are meant to be my wife, and I your husband. I know we are meant to have

a long and happy life together. I don’t want to wait, I would take you to the courthouse right now and marry you, but my desire to give you everything you have ever wanted and dreamed of, is the only thing holding

me back. Will you do me the honor of accepting me as your husband? Will you marry me, Olivia?” My voice

came out steadier than I ever thought it would.

A quiet sob escaped her lips, one hand resting over her heart and the other covering her mouth. As she

nodded, her left hand falling from her mouth, her voice quiet, “Yes, I will marry you.”

The moment she said yes, I tore the ring from the box and took her left hand, sliding the ring on her ring finger. I rose to my feet, wrapping my arms around her waist, and pressing my lips to hers. Her body molded to mine, as her arms wrapped around my neck. She was the first to pull away from our kiss. Her

gaze met mine, shock flashed in her gaze, as her hand moved to cup my cheek, her thumb swiping away a single tear I hadn’t even realized had fallen. “I love you, Daniel.”

“I love you more than you will ever know, my queen,” I smiled, earning a huge round of “awe’s” from the

crowd.

She moved her left hand, turning slightly in my arms, so she could look at the ring that was now sitting

perfectly on her finger. “Do you like it?” I asked.

“It’s beautiful, I love it,” she replied.

I glanced around and noticed that some of our crew were holding the press back a bit, from a question onslaught. So, Olivia and I could have our moment. I was grateful for that. I could see the eagerness in my parents‘ faces to come over and congratulate us. Gold was the same. Many others wanted to approach

1. us. I smiled and nodded for them to come over, as I said, “Well, soon–to–be Mrs Phillips, our family wants

to see us.”

Olivia glanced up at me, a huge smile on her face, despite the mass of unshed tears in her eyes. I couldn’t

help but lean in and press a kiss to her lips. I pulled away from her lips, just as Gold got to us. He looked at me first, and smiled, “You did well, just take care of my little princess. She deserves to be treated like a

queen.”

He patted my shoulder, as I smiled, “I will always treat her like a queen, because she will always be my

queen.”

“Good man,” Gold smiled, before he turned to Olivia.

“Daddy, I am engaged,” Olivia said loud enough for Gold and me to hear, as she moved away from me and

wrapped her arms around her dad.

Gold wrapped his arms around her and kissed the top of her head. “I know you are, Princess. He asked me

for my blessing, and I gave it to him. I know how happy he makes you. Just make sure that you come to

me, if he ever causes you any problems and I will sort him out. You will always have a home with me,

princess,” he said to her.

He pulled back, and smiled at us both. “Congratulations to you both.”

My mum came next all but shoving Gold out the way. “Sorry Gold, but my son would not let me see the

ring until he proposed to Olivia.”

Mum was right there, only my dad had seen it and I eyen swore him to secrecy. Dad told me Mum had been punishing him all week because he wouldn’t tell her what the ring looked like. He complained he had a serious case of blue balls because of it. I found it very funny that my mother was still trying to punish

him for something like that.

My mum took Olivia’s hand and examined the ring. She let out a gasp, “Okay, I can see why neither of you told me about the ring. It’s beautiful, perfect. I wouldn’t have been able to stop talking about it when I finally saw it.”

“That is exactly why we didn’t tell you, Ma. I wanted this to be a complete surprise for my beautiful queen,”

I said.

“You choose the perfect ring, my son. I am proud of you. Olivia, I can’t wait for you to be my

daughter–in–law. From today, you can call me Ma, like this one,” Mum said to us.

Dad patted my back and said, “You did amazing.” He paused, his gaze moving to Olivia, “Olivia, you are the

kind of woman I hoped would marry my son. Welcome to the family, Olivia.”

We were all trying to limit the use of our road names in front of the cameras, especially at that moment. When my parents stepped back from us, the old ladies swarmed Olivia, tearing her from my arms. They all wanted to see the ring. I folded my arms across my chest and glared at them. I didn’t like my woman being torn away from my arms.
