The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 69

Judie had rushed over the moment she found out. "Dr. Sloan, how long will you be abroad?"

"About a week," Leilani replied calmly, checking the flight board. Due to the unpleasantness at the sanatorium that morning, her mood remained flat. Not sad, just disappointed.

"A week? That's a bit long," Judie pouted. "When you get back, we have to go shopping! I found a delicious dessert shop!"

She had planned to bring her mother and aunt to Leilani's clinic, but that would have to wait.

Leilani looked at her helplessly and was about to speak when suddenly—

"Ahhh! Clive Sloan!"

Screams erupted from a distance as a mob of fans holding light signs and banners swarmed the VIP exit, blocking the path instantly.

Leilani frowned, stepping aside instinctively.

Judie stood on her tiptoes. "Wow, it's Clive Sloan! The top-tier actor who's super famous right now!"

Hearing the name, Leilani's eyes turned cold. Clive, her biological brother. And the person in the Sloan family who made his disgust for her the most obvious.

Leilani looked at Clive surrounded by fans, a mocking smile on her lips.

Leilani watched the A-list celebrity being treated like royalty and spoke softly. "Because in the eyes of the Sloan family, I'm just an embarrassing village girl."

Judie was shocked. "What do you mean?"

Leilani paused, finally voicing her background for the first time. "I was switched at birth by Tamara's biological father. When I was seventeen, the Sloans found out Tamara wasn't their blood and brought me back. Unfortunately, no one liked me. They thought I was uncouth and unpresentable compared to the pampered Tamara. On my eighteenth birthday, Tamara pushed Yvonne down the stairs. Yvonne was sent to the ER. The family quietly disabled the cameras and made me take the fall for Tamara. Clive... was the first one to force me to confess."

Leilani summarized years of suffering in a few sentences. Judie listened, eyes red with rage. "How could they do that?" No wonder that girl who claimed to be Leilani's sister lied so fluently.

Compared to Judie's agitation, Leilani smiled, emotionally detached. "It doesn't matter. Luckily, I met my mentor in prison and learned a trade. As long as they don't provoke me, I won't do anything to them."
