“The information Kelvin brought. It shows the Council supporting Asher. Breaking their own laws. Favoring one Alpha over another.” She pulls back to look at me. “What if we use that? Threaten to expose them if they try to remove you?”
It’s risky. Blackmailing the High Council could backfire spectacularly. Could make them destroy us just to protect their secrets. But it could also work. Could force them to back off. To leave us alone. To let us be.
“You’re brilliant.” I cup her face. “Absolutely brilliant. And terrifying. Remind me never to get on your bad side.”
“Too late for that. You’re stuck with me forever.” She grins “So tomorrow we go in armed with ammunition. Either they back off or we burn them down with their own corruption.”
“Either we walk out victorious or we both go down swinging.”
“Exactly.” She kisses me. Soft. Sweet. “Together. Always together.”
