Chapter 113 Rare Herbs
Leonard sat beside the hospital bed, drowning in guilt.
Isaac gently patted his shoulder in comfort.
“Dad, don’t blame yourself. None of us wanted things to turn out like this.
“Grandpa will get better. You have to believe that.”

“The doctor already confirmed that your grandfather fell into this coma because he was given chronic poison over a long period of time.
“If it weren’t for my stubbornness, he wouldn’t have been poisoned.
“The poison must’ve been slipped into his food by someone at the Sowle Estate.
“This is my fault. I was too selfish.”
The more Leonard thought about it, the heavier his guilt became.
Isaac knew the falling–out between his father and grandfather two years ago had been because of him.
All he could do was continue comforting him.
‘Dad, this isn’t your fault. The one to blame is Uncle Roy. He’s been planning this from the beginning. He even tried to force you out of the Sowles.
‘If Larissa hadn’t been there today, he would’ve succeeded.
‘He’s probably the one who arranged for the poisoning too. So the most urgent thing now is to find whoever carried it out.
Grandpa is critically ill now. You are the head of the Sowles. The family needs you.”
Leonard immediately stepped outside to call his assistant and ordered him to cleanse the Sowle Estate.
He wanted every person involved in the poisoning found.
Inside the hospital room, Isaac held Larissa’s hand and pleaded, “Larissa, is there any way you can save Grandpa? Even if it’s for the Sowles … for Dad and me.”
Larissa looked into Isaac’s pleading eyes, then glanced at Truman lying unconscious on the hospital bed. After a moment of silence, she nodded.
‘It’s not a big problem.”
She stepped forward and carefully checked Truman’s pulse, then pulled out a needle from her pocket.
Isaac watched her every move, barely daring to breathe.
With practiced precision, Larissa inserted the needle into several of Truman’s acupoints. Moments later,

the deathly pallor of his face began to fade, replaced by a faint trace of color.
Beads of sweat formed across Larissa’s forehead as she inserted several more needles, then slowly removed them.
“For now, his condition is stabilized. But to fully detoxify him, I’ll need some rare medicinal herbs.
“The poison has already entered his heart, so the herbs must be extremely potent and aged.
“These kinds of herbs won’t be easy to find.

“I know where to obtain most of them, but a thousand–year–old Everheart Bloom… I have no idea where to get that,” Larissa said gravely.
Isaac understood how capable his sister was, and he knew this meant the situation was serious.
“A thousand years old?
“Herbs that old are incredibly rare.
“Especially Everheart Bloom. It’s extremely scarce.
“This won’t be easy.
“But tomorrow night, Eldercrown’s largest auction house is holding an auction. They often sell rare items and medicinal herbs. Maybe we’ll find what you need there. We should go take a look.”
“That would be perfect.”
Larissa nodded.
“By the way, how is your body feeling?
“I already gave you needle therapy this morning. If you’re still uncomfortable, I’ll give you another session before bed tonight.
“Your body has only just recovered. You need proper rest. Don’t overexert yourself.”
“I’ll listen to you. You really are my lucky star. If it weren’t for you, I’d still be lying half–dead in a hospital bed waiting to die.”
The more Isaac looked at Larissa, the more he adored her.
“We’re family, Isaac. Why are you being so formal with me?”
Larissa wasn’t used to such emotional moments.
“I’m gonna look for the other herbs now. I’ll be leaving.”
With that, she turned and walked away without hesitation.
Isaac watched her retreating figure, suddenly realizing he had forgotten to ask where she planned to find those rare medicinal herbs.
