Chapter 447 Side Story: Beating Them at Their Own Game (Part Two)
It didn’t take long for Julia to surface as the most useful asset.
Larissa’s number-one enemy.
A pleased curve rose at the corner of Hazel’s mouth.
Julia was, at that very moment, working as a hostess at a club called Heaven Lounge. A bitter smile was pulling at the corner of her own mouth.
Falling this far-half of it was her own doing, and half of it was Larissa’s fault.
She should have been the pampered young lady of the Turners. Instead, she was…
A greasy, heavy hand slid up her thigh, and the voice attached to it was vulgar.
“Drink. Drink with me.”
Julia was fighting the urge to gag and was about to shove him off when her phone rang.
The caller ID said Hazel. She blinked, surprised, and answered.
“Julia. I know you’re not in a good place right now. I can get you back to the life you used to have. The price is simple. You help me take Larissa down.”
Hazel’s voice came through the line clearly.
Julia’s eyes lit up. Thinking about where she was right now, she said through her teeth, “Fine. I’m in. Larissa. I’ve wanted her gone for a long time.”
Whoever was on the other end of the line didn’t matter. As long as they paid her. As long as they could get her old life back. She’d do anything.
Her biological father was in jail. The Turners had found out she wasn’t their real daughter and were in the process of formally cutting ties with her.
To get back the life she wanted, she would pay any price.
Julia hung up the call, shoved the greasy hand off her leg, and said, “Get off. I don’t have to put up with this disgusting life anymore.”
The man walked off muttering curses.
At the same time, Larissa got a message from Nelson saying their target had already started moving.
Larissa lifted a corner of her mouth and said, coldly, “And there’s the bite on the hook.”
She had Nelson keep close watch on both Hazel and Julia.
Anyone who tried to come for her would pay for it.
Watching from a distance, Hazel and Julia went white with fear and turned to run.
They weren’t going to outrun Larissa.
The whole point had been to draw them into the open. Larissa would never have put in this much work otherwise.
Both women were surrounded, and Larissa had them hauled off to the detention center.
Larissa looked down at Hazel and Julia, her eyes like ice.
‘You thought this would work on me? How adorable.”
Hazel and Julia stared up at her in terror and tried to fight against the hands holding them.
‘Larissa, you can’t do this. You’re going to regret it!”
Hazel snarled the words at her.
Larissa sneered. “Regret it? You chose to do this. You should have thought about the consequences before.”
‘Larissa-whatever happened, we grew up together. Can’t you let me go? Just this once? I promise I won’t try anything again”
