Alvin curled his lips into a faint smile. Larissa didn’t refuse outright, which meant there was still room to negotiate. “What would it take to put you in a better mood?”

“Your subordinate disrespected me. How do you plan to punish him? I hold grudges.”

A sly smile tugged at Larissa’s lips.

Anyone who dared threaten her had better be ready to pay the price.

Alvin narrowed his eyes slightly and glanced toward the door, his voice turning cold.

“He offended you. That was his mistake. I’ll have him apologize and take 30 lashes as punishment.

“Come in. You heard what I said. Carry out my orders.”

Matt walked in, his face pale and rigid as he stood before Alvin.

He had never suffered such humiliation.

The Wonder Doctor’s clearly doing this on purpose.

million as compensation for emotional distress. Does that satisfy you?”

Larissa crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes. Five hundred million… Barely acceptable. “That’ll do. After all, I value money.”

Alvin studied her deeply. So she loves money?

“You may go receive your punishment.”

Matt nodded and left the room, but before exiting, he cast one last look at Larissa.

He could feel the doctor’s inexplicable hatred toward him.

Larissa glanced at the exquisite dishes, surprise flickering briefly in her eyes before fading into indifference.

She sat down without hesitation and began eating, thoroughly satisfied.

Alvin sat nearby, watching her quietly, his curiosity about Wonder Doctor growing stronger.

“The way you eat doesn’t match the rumors about Wonder Doctor.”

Alvin smirked faintly, his tone teasing.

Larissa didn’t even look up. “Rumors are just rumors. I’m an ordinary person. I need to eat before I can treat patients.”

Alvin chuckled softly, finding her unexpectedly interesting.

After finishing her meal, Larissa patted her stomach and stood up.

“For the sake of that meal, I’ll examine you.

“But I’ll say this first–whether I can cure you is another matter. My fees aren’t cheap.”

A flicker of excitement passed through Alvin’s eyes.

“Thank you, Wonder Doctor. As long as you can cure me, money is no object.”

Larissa stepped forward and began checking his pulse. Her expression gradually grew serious. In truth, she had already known the nature of his illness.
