Every official connected to Marcrest was being investigated, one by one.

Larissa wanted to know how Wilmot had gotten out.

As for Wilmot, she was sure of one thing: he would come looking for revenge.

So she would wait.

After finishing the call, she went back to working on her computer.

The hardware was almost done. It just needed a system upgrade and some optimization.

As soon as she arrived at school, the teacher asked her to fill out the registration form. They were leaving for Moblos in two days to take the exam.

Larissa filled it out quickly and handed it back. Then she rested her head on the desk to take a short nap.

Her phone rang. It was a private number,

“Boss, Everreach will be auctioned in Moblos in three days. Our investigation shows it has rich diamond and gold mines. A lot of people will attend the bidding.”

Larissa stepped into an empty hallway to take the call.

She thought for a moment.

“We’re going too. I want Everreach. No matter what.”

It worked out perfectly. She had to go to Moblos for the competition anyway. After the test, she could

attend the auction.

After hanging up, she began to calculate.

She hung up, slung her backpack over her shoulder, and took a cab straight to the Inspectorate.

When the director saw her, he stood up at once and poured her a cup of coffee.

“We still haven’t found out who was behind it,” he said carefully. “Why did you come in person? Is this about Wilmot? Are you really that concerned?”

Larissa dropped onto the sofa, looking relaxed.

“Since when did your office become this slow?” she said calmly. “Or are you involved too?”

The director’s face changed immediately.

“General Sowle, we would never do such a thing,” he said quickly. “The person behind this is extremely careful. We just need a little more time.”

Larissa gave a short, cold snort.

“I don’t have that much time. Wilmot contacted me himself. He said he wants to settle things in Moblos. I suspect the person behind him will make a move there too.”

The director thought for a moment.

“General Sowle, we’ll arrange for officers to protect you in secret. We’ll also speed up the investigation.”

Larissa waved her hand.

“Fine. Send more skilled professionals to protect me. Wilmot is like a rabid dog. If he wants to destroy himself this time, no one will be able to save him.”

After leaving the Inspectorate, she went home and told her family she would be going to Moblos for the competition.

“Larissa, are you going to Moblos?” Russ stared at her in shock. “You’re talking about the Global Academic Competition? That’s incredible!”

He was even more excited than she was.

“I know how important that competition is. It’s a national–level contest. Only ten students in the whole country get chosen. If you place in the rankings, you won’t just bring honor to the country. You could even receive invitations from top international schools.”
