Chapter 267 An Unwelcome Visit

Earlier that day, Sally happened to see a news report while watching TV. The headline caught her attention right away.
Sally stared at the screen in surprise.
After all, Larissa had grown up under their care. Of course, she would turn out well.
Since she was this talented, it was finally time for the family to make use of her.
Sally quickly picked up the phone and called Morris.
“Where are you now?” she asked sharply. “Did you see the news? Larissa turned out to be so capable. Bring her to me.”
She paused, then added coldly, “Tell her we’re willing to welcome her back.”
Morris had already thought about this. But he knew Larissa’s personality very well. Once she made up her mind, she was stubborn and impossible to change.
They had treated her terribly in the past. How could she possibly agree to come back?
‘Mom,” Morris said with a sigh, “Larissa is very successful now. People all over the world are paying attention to her. She won’t come back to us.”
Sally snorted. “She doesn’t have a choice. Her legal residence record should still be with us, right? You know what to do.”
Sally looked very upset.
At her age, she rarely lost her temper anymore.
Morris sighed again and explained patiently.
Mom, did you forget? When Julia came back years ago, you were afraid that Larissa might fight for the amily inheritance. So, you forced her to change her name and moved her legal residence record away”
Sally fell silent on the other end of the phone.
After a moment, she spoke again, full of regret. “You’re being foolish! No matter what method you use, you must bring Larissa back home. As long as she’s here, the company will survive.”
Now that Larissa had shown such amazing ability, her value was obvious. They had to bring her back and make her work for them.
And when you see her,” Sally added, “tell her to come treat my illness. Consider it a chance for her to make up for the past.”
Morris remembered how Larissa used to look at him with admiration and concern. Confidence returned to his face.

“I understand, Mom. Don’t worry. Larissa always listens to me. If I treat her a little better, she will definitely agree to my request.”
When Morris arrived at the school, he went straight to the auditorium where Larissa was.
He pushed open the door. Inside, a crowd of students surrounded Larissa. She stood in the middle, smiling as she signed autographs for everyone.
It was the first time Morris had ever seen her look so confident and happy.
“Larissa,” he called softly.
Larissa had been chatting and laughing with the students around her. But the moment she heard Morris’s voice, the smile on her face vanished.
Her expression turned cold. “Why are you here?” she asked.
Morris gave an awkward smile.
“Larissa, I know I was wrong before. I only realized how outstanding you are after seeing the news.”
He spoke warmly, as if nothing had ever happened.
“You’ve got such great grades. Why didn’t you tell me earlier? I came here specially to congratulate you. What you’ve achieved is incredible. You’ve made the country proud.”
He paused before adding, “Daddy is here to take you home.”
Larissa let out a cold laugh.
“My father is someone else. It’s not you.
“I have nothing to do with your family.
“When you threw me out back then, did you ever imagine things would turn out like this?”
“And the grades you’re praising now–did you or anyone in the family ever care about them before?”
She gestured toward the door.
“You’ve already seen what you came to see. Mr. Turner, please leave.”
Morris hadn’t expected her to refuse so quickly. The smile on his face stiffened, and he hurried to speak again.
“Larissa, I know I didn’t treat you well before. That was my fault. But now I understand.
“If you come home with me, I promise I’ll make it up to you.
“And your grandmother is very sick. She wants to see you. Just think of it as paying her a visit.”
Larissa’s eyes were full of disdain.

“And Grandma?” she said coldly. “You haven’t forgotten how she treated me back then, have you?
“I’m not that generous. Now that she is sick, does she suddenly remember me? Don’t you think it’s a little too late for that?”
