Chapter 37 The One Everyone Underestimated
Finished
Alvin, who was sitting in the back row, leaned over. “I didn’t finish my paper. Let me take a look.”
Larissa handed Nancy’s paper to him and started working on her own again.
Her speed never changed.
By the time Alvin finished copying, Larissa had finished writing as well.
Nancy had no words.
Her classmate was anything but normal.
She wrote as fast as someone else could copy.
And Nancy had witnessed it with her own eyes; almost all of it was correct.
This scene shocked her.
The first period was Eshea class, taught by their homeroom teacher.
Chloe was famous for being difficult.
She also carried a strong sense of superiority.
Chloe looked down on students from every class except Class A.
That was why her words were often harsh.
As usual, Larissa rested her head on the desk and fell asleep.
She worked at night and slept during the day.
The louder the place, the better she slept.
Normally, no one dared to sleep in Chloe’s class.
But Larissa was the exception.
Chloe recognized her right away.
Poor foundation and no effort.
And she dared to sleep in her class.

Someone who only finished elementary school–what right did she have to sleep here?
So rude. Not even showing basic respect for the teacher.
Chloe stormed over and slammed her hand on the desk.
“Larissa, get up!
“How dare you sleep in class? What do you think this place is?
“Your basics are weak, and you still won’t work hard. You’re hopeless!
“Wake up! Read this passage.”
Larissa slowly lifted her head groggily. She rubbed her eyes and looked at Chloe in confusion.
That only made Chloe angrier.
She raised her voice. “Look at you. You’re at the elementary school level, and you still don’t take studying seriously. With this attitude, you’ll never amount to anything.
“You probably won’t even get into a low–ranked college.
“Can you read or not? The whole class is waiting.”
While the teacher wasn’t looking, Nancy quietly pointed out the line to Larissa.
The class began whispering. Everyone was guessing that Larissa, who only finished elementary school, definitely couldn’t read the passage.
Some thought Chloe was doing this on purpose. She wanted Larissa to embarrass herself in front of everyone.
Chloe knew Larissa’s background. How could she possibly know high school vocabulary? How could she read this passage?
She just wanted to embarrass Larissa.
Larissa had only been at Marcrest High for less than a week, and she had already embarrassed Chloe several times.
There was no way Chloe could swallow that anger.
Larissa stood up to read.
Most students were waiting to laugh at her.

Everyone knew Larissa only finished elementary school.
She skipped middle school and never attended 11th grade. This was only her second day in 12th grade.
With her level, she probably only knows the easiest words. Anything harder, she would definitely mess up.
Larissa paused for a moment. Then, she began to read.
Her pronunciation was clear and smooth, like a professional radio host. Her rhythm was steady, and her tone carried the right emotion.
The classroom went silent. All the laughter and whispers disappeared. Everyone stared at her in shock.
Chloe froze. The smug look on her face vanished. Disbelief replaced it.
S–she was reading better than me.
How could this be?
When Larissa finished, she calmly sat back down.
Chloe finally came back to her senses and sneered.
“So what if you can read well? Real skill is reflected in your test scores. Midterms are coming soon. If you fail, you’ll still be kicked out of this school.”
