Chapter 439 Side Story: Terry’s Cold Refusal
“When I get out of here, Larissa’s going to pay for this.
“Are you going to abandon me, too?
“I can’t stand this…”
Terry had been considering it. The moment she started in on Larissa, his decision was made. He refused, flat.
“Floria. You did this to yourself. I’m not going to pull strings for you.
“You should think hard about what you did.
“And Larissa called the police to protect her own company. You can’t blame her for any of this.
“You crossed a line this time.
“Sit with it. Reflect. I’m leaving. I’ll come visit you again later.”
It was a good thing she’d said all that out loud. Otherwise, he might have gone ahead and done something without understanding the full picture.
He could have ended up on Larissa’s wrong side without even knowing how.
Something about looking at Floria now made him see every selfish, calculating thing about her for what it was.
There was no sweetness there. No kindness.
He’d been a fool for years. He’d been her loyal lapdog for a decade, played on a string, and never once noticed.
If Larissa hadn’t come into his life as a comparison, he might have stayed in the dark forever.
Floria hadn’t expected Terry, of all people, to refuse her. Her eyes went huge. The Terry who had always done whatever she asked
was saying no.
“Terry, you’ve changed. You were never like this before.
“Are you in love with Larissa, too?
choosing her over me?”
ry exhaled.
g now.
“Floria. I’ve already met the woman I want. And it’s Larissa.
“It’s only now that I realize how many faults you have. I spent years imagining you as something you’re not.
“You’re an adult. Start taking responsibility for your own choices.
“Sit with what you did. Don’t pull anyone else into your mess again.”

Then, Terry turned and walked out.
Floria watched his back disappear and felt the hatred inside her grow.
Terry had always done whatever she said. Always.
Why was he changing now, too?
He was watching her suffer and doing nothing.
This was Larissa again.
Larissa
That witch had somehow bewitched both her brother and Terry.
She had been the most loved person in their lives, and now, because of Larissa, they had the nerve to leave her here.
She swore to herself silently that when she got out, she was going to make Larissa pay, and she was going to make all of them egret the day they’d turned their backs on her.
She was the one who deserved their love. Not Larissa.
Her last option was Matt.
An hour later, Matt arrived, still dusty from the road.
When he saw the state she was in, his voice was tight with concern.
‘What on earth happened?
‘Why are you in here?
‘Where are Alvin and Terry?
u in a place like this?”
ed this particular sister.
oria wasn’t his biological sister, he’d raised her on a pedestal.
Terry was the same. He’d grown up watching over Floria, sending her gifts for every holiday, ready to hunt down anyone who so much as looked at her wrong.
So what was happening now?
Floria had been in this place for days, and neither of them had lifted a finger.
He’d dropped everything and flown back from ‘overseas the second he’d gotten her distress call.
He genuinely couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
Floria burst into tears in front of him.

“Matt, it’s because of Larissa. That witch is why neither of them will help me.
“Matt, please tell me you’re not going to abandon me too…”
