Gavin glanced at his friends behind him. Fred was the only one with shooting experience; the others were lucky to know how to hold a gun.
Leland, on the other hand, clearly came prepared.
The people with him were his regular gaming teammates.
He couldn’t stand the thought of her being embarrassed by his failure.
“Leland, this is too much,” he said coldly. “You came here today just to stir trouble, didn’t you?”
Leland snickered.
“What? Afraid to compete? Aren’t you amazing at games? Are you a pussy now?”
He smirked and continued, “Of course, if you admit youre a coward and promise to never join another gaming competition again, I’ll be kind enough to let you off today.”
Larissa set down her cola and stepped forward. She tugged lightly on Gavin’s arm. “We’ll compete with you.”
Fred stepped forward at that moment.
“Leland, that’s enough. Count me in. I’ll beat you.”
Leland looked at them with mock amusement and slowly clapped.
“Nice. Really nice. I have to admit, your courage is impressive. Since none of you mind embarrassing yourselves, let’s begin. The bullets are fake, but they still hurt when they hit. Little girl, you’re so thin. Be careful. These things are hurtful. And you, Fred–you useless rich playboy. Do you even know how to shoot? You bunch of losers really don’t know your limits.”
Everyone there could tell Leland was picking a fight on purpose.
When the two teams were compared, the gap was obvious.
Clearly, Leland’s team had the advantage.
The crowd couldn’t help worrying about Gavin’s group.
Especially Larissa. She looked small and skinny. Could she even hold a gun properly?
Wouldn’t she just become a walking target?
Gavin was so angry he wanted to punch someone.
Larissa pulled him behind her. A confident smile lifted the corner of her lips. “Leland, don’t celebrate too early. You better not cry when you lose later.”
She turned to Gavin. “Don’t worry. We’re going to win.”
Gavin was still worried, but he nodded anyway.
The field was set up. Both sides took their positions.

After the years she spent on Ravenmind Island, she had already been through real battles. The person she was now felt like someone who had crawled out of hell and survived.
She waited for the right moment. Then, with just a few easy moves, she hit two opponents.
Only Leland was left.
She spared him on purpose, not because he was strong; she just wanted to play with him a little longer.
“Weren’t you acting tough just now? Didn’t you say these bullets hurt? Want to experience it yourself?”
With that, Larissa raised her gun and fired at him.
Leland never expected the girl to have such perfect aim.
Wherever she aimed, she hit.
His face changed instantly, and he started attacking wildly.
Surprisingly, Larissa only fired once and hit his wrist. Just like that, his gun dropped to the ground immediately.
Then she swept her aim across his shoulder, then his leg…
“Alright. I’ll disqualify you now. You lost.”
Finally, Larissa shot the signal device on the back of his gear pack.
Leland was eliminated. His whole team was wiped out.
Leland’s face turned dark. He stared at Larissa in disbelief.
Gavin rushed forward and hugged her tightly. “Larissa, you’re amazing! I’m so proud of you!”
The pride in his eyes was impossible to hide.
