Chapter 99 Having Her Back
Without making it obvious, Isaac subtly pulled Larissa behind him and smiled.

“Mr. Robinett, you flatter her. Larissa’s still young and inexperienced. I hope you’ll be patient with her and look after her in the future.”
Wesley’s gaze slipped past Isaac and settled on Larissa, the smile still lingering in his eyes.
“Ms. Sowle is sharp and perceptive. I wouldn’t call her inexperienced.”
Rumor has it that Mr. Robinett has never shown interest in women, yet the way he looks at Larissa is clearly different.
No. We only just found Larissa. She’s not old enough. There’s no way I’ll let that old man get anywhere near her.
I need to cut off any chance of Larissa having further contact with him.
He did something blatantly rude. Without even saying goodbye, he grabbed his sister and pulled her away.
Just then, Leonard walked over.
“Mr. Robinett, we meet again!
“Thanks for coming. We’re really honored.”
Wesley immediately composed himself and replied respectfully, “It’s Mr. Truman’s birthday. It’s only right that I come.”
Roy also stepped forward at that moment, eager to build a connection with Wesley.
“Mr. Robinett, a pleasure.”
He extended his hand eagerly.
The Robinetts were a hidden titan among the elite families, existing above even Eldercrown’s four great families.
No one could accurately calculate just how much wealth the Robinetts possessed.
If the Robinetts so much as coughed, the entire balance of power in Eldercrown would shift.
If he could form a relationship with someone like that and pull him into his own camp, he’d become the true head of the Sowles.
Wesley merely glanced at him, then completely ignored his outstretched hand and walked away.
In a setting like this, Wesley’s move was the same as throwing Roy’s dignity to the ground and stepping on
Roy’s face turned pale, then flushed with anger.
He had controlled the Sowles for two full years. He’d assumed Wesley would at least give him some basic

respect.
He never expected Wesley to humiliate him like this.
His eyes filled with venom.
Today’s plan can’t fail.
I will make sure Leonard’s family never has a chance to rise again.
From a distance, Isaac watched the scene and couldn’t help but praise him.
“Didn’t expect Wesley to be so perceptive. He knows Uncle Roy is scum and didn’t give him an ounce of respect. That was satisfying to watch.”
Larissa was holding a glass of cola. She’d originally wanted wine, but Isaac had swapped it out without hesitation.
“Uncle Roy is a bad guy?
“Did he bully you before?”
Larissa hadn’t gone out of her way to learn about the Sowles’s internal conflicts.
From the way Isaac spoke, Roy clearly wasn’t easy to deal with.
Isaac’s expression turned serious.
“The car accident I was in two years ago–it was Uncle Roy’s doing.
“And the reason our whole family left Eldercrown… he had a hand in that too.
“Today, you need to be careful. Now that he’s seen us show up at Grandpa’s birthday party, he’ll definitely try something.”
Larissa nodded. “I understand. Trust me. I’ll be careful.”
At that moment, her phone rang.
It was the group chat with Tim. He was looking for her.
“Hey, Larissa, how’s everything at the party? Is everything going smoothly?
“Has anyone bullied you?
“Have you seen an especially handsome man?
“Did he stand up for you?”
Larissa glanced around.
“I’m already at the party.

“Everything’s fine. Other than my brother, I haven’t seen any handsome guys, and no one stood up for
me.”
Wesley saw the message too. He watched Larissa as she lowered her head to reply, and couldn’t help but smile.
Heartless little thing.
Am I not handsome enough?
Didn’t I just stand up for her?
Wesley couldn’t resist replying, “Look 45° to your left. Didn’t I just stand up for you?”
Only then did Larissa lift her head and look 45° to her left.
